Sanford has committed sepuku on live TV.
Ensign has discovered what goes on in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas.
Palin is retiring from politics.
Haley Barbour is a former lobbyist who runs the poorest state in the Union.
Huckabee is a 5th stringer.
John Thune is running for Vice President and we have no idea whether General Petraeus is a conservative or not.
It looks like the only guy who can stop the Mitt Machine is Daniels.
If you don't like Daniels, then Romney is the nominee by default in 2012.
Haley Barbour has been underestimated his entire life.
We have much more than Mitt Romney.
Ditto.
Can you imagine Romney attack Obama’s healthcare? He will have a lot of explaining to do about Romney Care.
Both of ‘em are awful.
What is it with the push for Mitch Daniels lately? George W. Bush’s “My Man Mitch” is not much my man.
I guess Romney is the RNC’s new anointed one. Why doesn’t the RNC just run a Democrat and call it quits for the GOP?
It depends on how you define conservative.
I don’t believe legislating morality is conservative
Cutting taxes, cutting spending, working to limit the power of the Federal Reserve is.
Being for strong national security is.
Caring who people marry or what they do with their personal life is NOT conservative.
“Palin is retiring from politics.”
Were it not for your tenor at FR, I would call you a liar for that comment.
Former Republican New Mexico governor
The perfect fiscal con with over 700 vetos
But So-cons will hate him becasuse he wants to legalize pot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_E._Johnson
To this day, Johnson carries with him his “Seven Principles of Good Government”:
1. Become reality driven. Dont kid yourself or others. Find out whats what and base your decisions and actions on that.
2. Always be honest and tell the truth. Its extremely difficult to do any damage to anybody when you are willing to tell the truthregardless of the consequences.
3. Always do whats right and fair. Remember, the more you actually accomplish, the louder your critics become. Youve got to learn to ignore your critics. Youve got to continue to do what you think is right. Youve got to maintain your integrity.
4. Determine your goal, develop a plan to reach that goal, and then act. Dont procrastinate.
5. Make sure everybody who ought to know what youre doing knows what youre doing. Communicate.
6. Dont hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always time to salvage things. There is always time to fix things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be revealed eventually should be revealed immediately.
7. Last, be willing to do whatever it takes to get your job done. If youve got a job that you dont love enough to do what it takes to get your job done, then quit and get one that you do love, and then make a difference.[11]
How about Hugh Romney?
tenor = tenure
Unfortunately for you about 70% or more of the people that share your views vote for the party that advances them.
The traditional pre sixties type conservatives vote for the party that tries to preserve American culture and families.
Republican primary voters like the “it’s his turn” mantra because it keeps them from having to look at a group of candidates and make a sound decision.
Erm Mitch would slap Romney silly and that’d be that. It’s not even a contest.
One romneybot tried to sell us Maj.Gen Jean A. Romney once, until I googled the guys picture.
He is a libertarian and, as I have written, I share some pesky libertarian tendencies so I'm not put off so much by his position on drugs nor do I find his divorce a dealbreaker.
But I am concerned about his stand on national defense because he is a libertarian. What gives there?
If he his not disqualified on defense, he looks like Vice presidential timber.
I was going to post an image of Wavy Gravy (Hugh Romney) in a clown uniform, but couldn’t get the image tag to work.
I’m not a Pawlenty fan, but it’s slanderous to call him a draft dodger. He was born in 1960. He was in his early teens when we left Vietnam. I respect you for your service, but you aren’t better than me because of it.
I love Fred Thompson, but he never served in the military. I believe he went to Memphis St. right out of high school and after that went to Vanderbilt Law.
I saw him, I assume it was a joke right?
