The Obama administration is planning to use the National Security Agency to screen Internet traffic between government agencies and the private sector, the Washington Post reported Friday. The project was first initiated by the previous administration of president George W. Bush and was due to be set in motion in February.
The aim is to protect the government computer network from attacks from outside, the Post said quoting Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

The list, ping
So if we write to our congresscritter to complain, we’re going to be on the list?
So if you complain to “your” representative it’s a gotcha moment?
U.S. Office of Management and Budget, Memorandum M-08-05, Implementation of Trusted Internet Connections (TIC), November 20, 2007.
Based on the responses I have received from my “representatives”, I would say that the list already exists. I expect that this has lots to do with identifying “government employees who must be fired”. Unlike the gutless Republicans, this administration will hunt and stamp out any decent. It should be an object lesson for the future; if the conservatives ever gain control.
Followed by a tax audit.
Dissent.
And you are half-way right; what we must do is enforce laws and NOT be ‘compassionate’ when it comes to government employees and politicians.
Things like these:

If you read there are conditions where, according to these laws, they are punishable by death.
Treason, as well, is punishable by death and there is one who SHOULD, very much so, be tried for it: Rep John Murtha.
If we could get him on treason, and I mean GET not a mild censure or slap-on-the-wrist or “public apology,” but actually hanging him... why then I believe we could start some REAL reform.
The problem is that the other two branches are plenty full of people who ought to be tried for treason, like the USSC for its failure to even hear the case of the rights of the bondholders of GM or the DOJ which dropped voter intimidation charges on those new black panthers!
There’s so much corruption that it’s sickening, angering, and I for one would like to see Justice done... to see our “overlords” reap the consequences of their arrogance.
Lord I wish I could spell. dissent not decent. sorry
Once the mechanism is in place, it will be very easy to expand the scope to all communications between normal people.
Headline is wrong. Friend in high levels of government told me TWO MONTHS AGO not to send any politically-oriented e-mails as they were all being screened. This is all coming from the Obama administration. People have no clue as to how evil these people are and I’m tired of telling folks. Time to just let people suffer the consequences of inaction and stupidity. People voted that man into office and people need to have their legs cut out from under them to wake up because they are NOT seeing clearly now. By the time they do, it will be entirely too late. As daddy always said, “Be careful what you wish for.”
No doubt. The power to tax is the power to destroy.
I think so. I think this has been the case for some time, not new to the Obama administration.
An economic crash and/or an attack that will kill 10s of thousands or more dead is all that will get the people's attention immediately.
Even Conservatives on here (all over the Internet) can't stop complaining or fighting with each other over the most asinine petty things. The problem is our Liberties are slowly dwindling away, and we can't get an organized effort setup with the Conservatives in order to take back our country.
God Help Us.
