The jobs problem creates a number of political problems for the White House.
First, it bolsters the no party which inveighed against the stimulus and predicted, quite correctly, it would do nothing to put people to work. Republicans who voted against the stimulus and opposed it as a giant waste of taxpayers money look rather smart.
Second, the skyrocketing unemployment figure creates further doubts about the viability of the cap-and-trade plan. Those 44 Democrats and all but 8 Republicans who voted against the bill, in large part because imposing a huge energy tax and new regulatory regime on American businesses is a job killer, may now find many in the Senate who agree. Moreover, with the addition of a convoluted scheme of offsets that allows a company, for example, to buy a rain forest in Brazil to make up for its own emissions, it will be increasingly difficult to argue that any of those green jobs are being created here in the U.S. What is being created is a giant tax, anti-trade, and government intervention regime. And the jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs? They are actually predicted to go down.
Third, once again the public and the presidents critics will begin to ask why the president is engaged in a non-stop effort to pass a government takeover of the health care industry rather than focusing on creating jobs and fostering an economic recovery...

Ask her again when unemployment reaches 10 percent plus....
While your at it, ask Barry and his group of far-left wacko economists.
Obummer supporters by the droves are not immune to job losses. And the fact that those who voted for Obummer in light of what has happened over the last six months look like a bunch of fools now. This is how your “messiah” has treated you. This is how “the one” has treated the country. He has treated the country and all Americans like they are toilet paper and he is wiping his butt with it.
Most politicians have no idea, not the faintest idea, where jobs come from. They have the teenager’s idea that the economy flows outward from Washington, as does about half the American electorate.
The only question is, what will we have to go through before the adults get control again? How hard a lesson will we have to endure before we’ve been sufficiently schooled?
Experience is a hard task master, and reality is a jaw breaker. And some people don’t even learn from that. They just keep wanting to give the patient more of whats killing him, and wondering why he refuses to get up off his sick bed.
The jobs and money from the scam are for people in other countries, not America!!!! Keep in mind this is from the UN, the most anti-American institiution there is in the world.
I’ve got a great idea. Why don’t we burn Washington, D.C. to the ground? Think of the jobs that will be created building it back up! We could do this in other cities as well, such as Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston and San Francisco.
You forgot part of New York were the UN stands. lol
Well do that part first, then urinate on it for good measure.
Nationally, but you make a valid point...I forgot to incorporate her state or district. My bust.
Madame Speaker has just stepped in a pile again.
Then sow the ground with salt.
“Republicans who voted against the stimulus and opposed it as a giant waste of taxpayers money look rather smart.”
You didn’t have to be smart to predict what’s happened. It’s common sense.
I have to say that, for many Americans, trying to educate them has become a useless exercise. I've come to the conclusion, sad to say, that they have to suffer terribly before they get it.
Madame Speaker is an outright liar and thief...just ask the CIA. Why would anyone ask her anything knowing full well when her lips move, she’s lying thru her teeth. That rat’s nest up there needs a total cleaning out.
what jobs? Windmill oiler? Smart car battery checker? Light bulb inspector?
Fourth, why pass “comprehensive immigration reform” and give amnesty to all these illegal aliens when so many legal residents are out of work?
New Rat voters. Plain and simple.
