His opinion as a “moderate” was that the Republican party needs to “moderate”. Fine, I don’t agree but it’s a valid position. So, we have an election and Republicans run McCain, the epitome of Republican “moderates”. So who does Powell endorse and support? Extreme left-wing Obeyme. Why does Powell even speak for the party? He’s a “Republican” the same way Lincoln Chafee and Arlen Specter were Republicans. Where are they today?

Colin Powell=slow learner!
Powell is accused of endorsing Obama because they both share the same color skin, and by way of that is called "racist".
I disagree with this assessment. Although race was an indirect and contributing factor, Powell's endorsement had much more to do with perpetuating Powell's stature and influence within the black community. Had he not endorsed Obama he would have been tarred, by the winning side (and note that he only endorsed once it was clear to everyone that McCain was going to lose), as an Uncle Tom, race-traitor, etc. That would have been the end to his credibility and by extension his charities (which operate disproportionately in the inner cities).
So in reality, Powell isn't really a "racist" by the classic definition of the word. He's something much worse: a craven opportunist who uses racially-driven tactics to advance himself and his causes. Booker T. Washington called these sorts of people, rising out of the black community, "Problem Profiteers" and the term now applies as much to Powell as it does to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan.

Over time we are seeing that Powell displays the same lack of principles and abundance of opportunism that was whispered about him many years ago when he was at the Pentagon. Bingo. Powell's nothing but a crass politician deep down inside.

Why is everyone (the Powell type) so concerned now about Obamas spending? He is doing exactly what he said during the campaign he was going to do. Did people think he was kidding?? To paraphrase football coach Dennis Green: "He WAS who we THOUGHT HE WAS! You want to crown him, then CROWN HIS ASS!"
Which the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) has done.

I know people that voted for Obama who would never vote for him again. They admit they voted for him because he was the “first black” to run for President and would become the “first black” President. Did they agree with him on his agenda — not very much but they were convinced he would govern from the center. Where they got that idea is anyone’s guess.
Several of them have lost their jobs and several work at car dealerships that are on the chopping block. Changes your whole perspective.
I wouldn’t say never because I “never” thought I would see the day Helen Thomas went after the Obama Administration and said they were worse then Nixon.
All things are possible.

I am sitting in VERY conservative Fauquier County VA and there are still OB supporters (not all AA) that still champion this fool...I can see them saying nothing, but to still openly support him and try to convince me to even think good thoughts about him is sickening.
