Ruth Madoff was booted from her Upper East Side penthouse yesterday -- walking out with nothing but her purse and "the clothes on her back" ......... Six US marshals showed up armed with a court order to seize the residence she had shared for years with swindler Madoff -- and all of the contents inside. "Technically, everything in there is restitution for victims." A source said Ruth looked grim and "stone-faced" as she left the apartment clutching her purse. Marshals changed the locks as soon as she was gone. The feds will retain a real-estate agent to market the penthouse and likely will auction off its contents. As part of her deal to surrender the penthouse, other real estate, yachts and several bank accounts, Ruth keeps $2.5M--a mere fraction of the vast wealth she enjoyed by virtue of Bernard's massive crimes for decades.

Oh, boo-hoo. I’m sure she has enough cash (extorted from others) stashed off-shore to last her the rest of her natural days.
If I had been her I wouldn’t have waited or the Marshals to show up.
She can buy a small house in Iowa and live off the remainder for the rest of her life. Boo-hoo.
I am sure she has a dollar or two stashed somewhere the Feds can’t touch it.
Wonder if she had advance notice that they would be sealing the apt with all her things inside?

But WHERE is the money? Somehow I don’t think that Ruth will have to live on her “piddly” $2.5 million.
All she has to do is invest the money with her husband - it will return $500k/yr, in good times or bad...
I'm sure the jewelry and Krugerrands left long before she did.
Her theatrical interpretation of her situation belies her personality. Waiting for eviction is playing the victim card for sympathy. Stonewalling the feds will buy Ruth and Bernie nothing but pain.
The fact that the "press" is willing to cover this story shows the MSM does have a level where they'll condemn one of their own.
Nice to know if a liberal steals more than 10 billion - the MSM will cover it.

She was the bookkeeper for Bernie from the start. There is strong evidence her father was in on the Madoff frauds from way back. This last part supports the notion that her “inheritances” were the result of crimes as well.
It may be the $2.5 million was ONLY the result of trying get her out of all the real property -- and fork over the other assets -- without a lot of time and money in court. Otherwise she might be penny less right now.
I guess she’ll do a little stimulating of the economy to get some clothes and furniture... I bet the fur coat she begged to keep was had something extra in the lining...
Uh, yeah, totally feel sorry for her. How on earth will she make it with 2.5 million?
