I didn't "conveniently remove" the second sentence from your post in my reply. I have no issue with that second statement, but I did with the first, so I rebutted it.

You haven't made that assertion stick, and I don't think you can.

They voted for Reagan because they knew he was strong on defense and there was a big huge issue with the Iranian hostages going on.

The Iranian Hostage Crisis was secondary to the main reason that Reagan trashed Carter in that election.

Carter produced a demoralized America, with high inflation, and a rotten economy. People voted their pocketbooks and paychecks, because Reagan made sense on economic issues, just as much as he did on issues of national defense.
