Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth said today she was cancelling plans for an exclusive "salon" at her home where for as much as $250,000, the Post offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record access to "those powerful few" Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and even the papers own reporters and editors.
The astonishing offer was detailed in a flier circulated Wednesday to a health care lobbyist, who provided it to a reporter because the lobbyist said he felt it was a conflict for the paper to charge for access to, as the flier says, its health care reporting and editorial staff."
Post newsroom in an uproar after POLITICO reported the solicitation, Weymouth and Executive Editor Marcus Brauchli both said today that they were not aware of the flier or the specifics of what it offered.

This should be the straw that breaks the liberal camel’s back. Between the New York Slimes, the Washington Compost and the LA Slimes, there is not a scintilla of moral or ethical standing.
Is there a good, serious conservative news outlet in the entire US, if not,,,,,Why??
The WaPo is spinning this so fast their heads are going to fly off. They did it; they got caught.
Yes this should be what puts newspapers out of business. It’s not because people don’t want to read newspapers that they are doing bad, but it is because people don’t want to read papers that are bias. That is why they are down in circulation. Can’t trust them to be honest and truthful. They have an agenda they want to promote and pass and all objectivity is out the window. They have no ethics and are a mouth piece for Obama.
“The WaPo is spinning this so fast their heads are going to fly off. They did it; they got caught.”
For people in the news business, it seems rather odd that they were not “aware” of something happening right under their elitist noses;) Just once, I’d like to hear, “Yeah, I screwed up. Big time. It was ALL my fault!”;)
“You spin me right round baby, right round like a record baby, right round round round”
You can always tell a whore, but you can’t tell tell her much.
well I can tell corruption and this is corruption.
