How could this take place without the participation and advance knowledge of the White House?

“This should never have happened. The fliers got out and weren’t vetted,” Weymouth told her paper. “They didn’t represent at all what we were attempting to do.”

The farm animals catch the pigs for a change.

Here is another potentialmajor scandal that will probably just sink from sight over the 4thof July weekend, just as the Pelosi/CIA story sank over the Memorial Day weekend.

But there is a serious question: is it possible that Obama administration officials and Democratic legislators could NOT have known about the specifics of this arrangement? Is this not yet another example of the media cozying up to the Obama administration, at the home of the WaPost publisher, in a "non-confrontational" environment? Hannity and O'Reilly need to be all over this story.

“White House denies involvement” - well, that settles it, case closed. Let’s move on. This is just a distraction from the serious work that the president is trying to accomplish for the American people.

This is the flier in question, posted at the Washington Examiner:

Key selling point for the O- Administration's & Pelosi's WaPo pimps:

"Interact with key Obama Administration and Congressional leaders, advocay and business decision-makers - and the publisher, executive editor and health-care reporters of the Washington Post."

No way did a 'flier' get this far along in the graphic production chain, unless "key Obama administration and Congressional leaders" already sign off on putting 'access' to themselves up to the highest bidders.

"We're not going to do any dinners that would impugn the integrity of the newsroom."

Don't worry. That horse is already out of the barn.

I’ve been giving this some thought ...

I believe that government ethics rules require written disclosure when anyone in government meets with a lobbyist.

Also, Wa Po is hemmoraging cash - has posted losses for at least the last few quarters.

So, hows this ...

Kathryn Weymouth charges some of her guests (the lobbyists) a cover charge in order to get “invited” to the dinner ...

She also “invites” government officials ...

Since it is a private dinner, everything is off-the-record ...

Everybody gets what they want - lobbyists get access, government officials do not have to report the lobbyist contacts, and Kathryn Weymouth runs to the bank with the cash.

Even for those of us who have limited respect for the MSM, this is a shocker.

It's also nice to know the newsroom people showed major backbone... The world is getting stranger.
