The former communications director for the Senate Environment and Public Works minority staff is outraged that the House has passed the cap-and-trade legislation.
The Waxman-Markey Energy Bill, or cap and trade, is now headed to the U.S. Senate after passing the House by a slim margin last Friday. According to Marc Morano of ClimateDepot.com, the bill amounts to one of the biggest tax increases in U.S. history.
Morano is also outraged over the sheer amount of corruption surrounding the bill's passage. "This is one of those times where you've just got to scratch your head and marvel at the raw arm-twisting and bribery that took place," he contends.
Lawmakers introduced over 300 pages to the bill the night before the bill passed, according to Morano. He adds that the Congressional Budget Office cannot even score the bill because parts of it have not even been written yet.
Morano says lawmakers were even bragging about getting multimillion-dollar earmarks for their district if they supported the bill.
"This was a bill that was literally not about anything other than saving face because Nancy Pelosi had said she was going to do it and she did it [pass the bill]," he points out. "But it was just amazing to watch the raw power and basically the sleaze in which they did it."
According to Morano, the bill will face a tougher time in the Senate after the Fourth of July recess.
It's well and good that these comments were made by Morano; however, his former position points out the flabbiness and uselessness of most central government jobs!
The corruption in this evil central government is not centered merely in this Cap and Tax piece of excrement....it's the whole damned DC sewer system that flows into our statehouses.

This is insane. They (the a**-clowns that voted for this) are writing legislative blank checks to whoever wants to fill in the blanks on the unwritten portions. Every single idiot that voted for this must, must be voted out of office the next time he or she is up for re-election. If possible, we should try to recall any/all of these people.
They obviously aren't taking their jobs very seriously. They have no sense of responsibility to their electorate. They are negligent in their duties, possibly criminally so. These people shouldn't be trusted to do anything more demanding than sweep floors.
Sleaze undergirds every waking moment and action of this administration.
Sleaze oozes and drips with cloying wisps of noxious steam all around this administration.
Sleaze is the basic building-block component of this entire group of commies.
The intention of their 'jobs' originally was to represent states' rights and keep the federal government from encroaching on those rights.
Theses bozos do an about face and become members of the central government conspiracy.
C-Span does viewers a service. It shows those two houses well-fed and cared-for members milling around the chambers of Congress like cattle. Nothing to do but the new master's bidding.
Congress, and the marxist leader of course, are by and large no longer responsible to the American citizens and the states they were to represent.
They are an important ingredient in the deceitful, illegal and mountainous legislation they rubber stamp without even reading it.
If they read it, few would ever understand it, nor would they understand that they're destroying America.

You are absolutely correct; these slugs should be removed from office. BUT THIS IS THE PROBLEM. These slugs are bringing earmarks to their electorate - their home districts. You and I can’t vote them out, only those who are receiving the earmarks can and what is the chance of that happening? Representatives who sell out this country by bringing bribe money into their districts will stay elected forever. WE NEED A NEW SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT or different rules.

The system of government which the Constitution set up was just fine as long as those rules were followed instead of “evolved to meet modern sensibilities”. In other words, when it’s a foundation instead of a “living document”, it works fine.
