Al Franken's Blue Ball
American Spectator ^ | 02 july 09 | R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

WASHINGTON -- The Minnesota Supreme Court has now ended months of vote fraud and other assorted acts of skullduggery to pronounce Al Franken winner of the state's 2008 senatorial race over Republican Norm Coleman. The process was unseemly, and it is conceivable that the court's justices merely acted out of civic pride. They did not want Minnesota's U.S. Senate races to attain the sort of notoriety attached to aldermanic elections in Chicago or presidential elections in Iran.

Mr. Franken is an admitted clown. As such he will be the only admitted clown in the United States Senate, though he will be seated with such clownish figures as Senator John Kerry and Senator Harry Reid. Perhaps his desk will be near that vacated recently by Senator Larry Craig, the lavatorian-conservative now thankfully retired, perhaps to found an intellectual journal for his lavatorian movement. A good title might be, Bathroom Beautiful.

Unfortunately, with the nature of the Senate, and the unbending number of partisan Liberals in it, not to mention Snowe, Collins and Graham, Crap (in your nest) and Trade will now pass by a super majority.

This is just bad timing, and the Democrats know how to use the Lazy Public to their advantage. They will push this and Health Care through this summer while the brain dead public is in their usual Summer coma.

Once again one of 0bama's heroes proves true:

Joseph Stalin "The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do."

Listen, I understand the fraud part, but aside from the fraud how did anyone vote for this clymer? I watched some of the debates and there was nothing that came out of Franken's mouth that made sense or sounded like someone you'd want in the Senate.

Considering this election as well as the one we had here in the People's Republic of New York to replace the golden girl (Kirsten Gillibrand), the Republicans need to get smart about two things: fraud and mortally awful candidates who make the fraud work. There is no question that the Republicans don't take seriously that fraud is going to be occur. If they did, they'd try to prevent it instead of trying to deal with it afterwards when it's far too late. But for crying out loud, if you're going to have candidates who don't stand for anything and don't make their own people want to vote for them like both Coleman in Minnesota and Tedisco in NY, you may as well get a payoff from the RATS for helping make the fraud a success.

Anyone remember Al Franken’s autobiographical role in “Trading Places?” Pretty much summed up Franken’s qualifications to serve in that august body.

It is HARD to believe that Coleman lost to Al Franken, after winning both the election AND the first recount! But, the Dems kept counting, and counting, and COUNTING...till they were ahead! THEN they froze it.

I’m with you pardner.

How did the people select this clown? It’s a huge statement of what the people of Minnesota stand for.

I now equate Minnesota with Massachusetts, which keeps returning people like Kennedy and Kerry and Barney Frank.

One thing we can all agree on is that Franken with the help of ACORN and the Attorney General of MN were responsible for stealing the election from Coleman. The Gov. (Pawlenty) was ineffective and stood on the sideline while this theft occurred. Be that as it may, it does say something for the large number of the moronic voting public in MN to vote for a clown for Sen. But the Minnesotans have a history of voting for jerks ie Jesse Ventura and the former senator who died in the air crash.

Senator Luvs rode in on the coattails of Duh Won. If MN law had prescribed a run-off election (say 90 days later) instead of recounts ad infinitum, this Bozo would not be insulting the Senate by his presence today.

Each state should be looking into it’s runoff procedures at all levels. In some places a runoff between the two highest vote-getters is triggered automatically if one candidate does not get 51% of the initial count.

You can denigrate Franken all you want, but the real odium falls on the people of Minnesota who made the election close enough that stealing it possible.

Minnesotans preferred to pull the lever for an incoherent clown rather then an experienced, serious candidate. Coleman is not a favorite of mine, but this should have been a slam dunk.

If I wanted to give Minnesotans the benefit of the doubt, I would conclude that Franken was merely a protest vote and they thought he wouldn’t win, but just wanted to make it close enough to send a message. I can’t imagine they REALLY wanted Franken to represent them in the U.S. Senate.

I am becoming tired of reading the once-proud name of my state, Massachusetts constantly entered as the bad example of the hour. Massachusetts, where the active drive for our country’s birth began has denigrated to the People’s Democratic Republic of Massachusetts (PDRM).
In the PDRM there are STILL a modicum of proud AMERICANS, huddled masses yearning to be once again free and truly proud.
Yes we have pride, but in the PAST, not the present.
Life is tough enough without daily and hourly reminders thrown in our faces.
Leave us alone, I beg you, kind people.

This was a dry run for the 2010 and 2012 elections. With the evil that is still in power,(acorn), there will never be another honest and free election in this country again.

I know how you feel I live in maryland. We too have the same problem of being out voted by the entitlement klan

I have fought for years to oust Democrat Mikulski and Steny Hoyer, I voted for Mike Steele against Cardin.

I know your feelings, but the facts are there. The state keeps returning rich elite royalty in the form of Kennedy and Kerry to the Senate, and it does create a blight on your fair State, as do those I mentioned, do mine.
