Are you kidding? This administration will appeal to the captors’ sense of fair play and decency, sit down and have tea and a dialogue. If that fails, a strong letter to the UN will follow.
I’m retired US Army. My son’s an Army Sergeant Major. He’s been in harm’s way four times. Thanks to God he was not injured. Still has two years to go for 20. Not sure what he’ll do at this time.
But, I’m with you. If he were to go in harm’s way again and something bad happen, I would want to avenge it. Sadly, I don’t think the present leadership (military or civilian) has the guts to do it. .
tutti frutti or passion fruit (big in Kenya)
Prayers to God for this soldier’s protection.
To bad we're not in your world but Obama's world...
Emperor No-Clothes is keeping the job of Ice Cream Czar for himself.
Praying.
Title is misleading and not the complete title of the story to which you link.
Reading the story, I noted the information in the story is not confirmed. Key word left out of title on this thread is “Believed”. So far, all that seems to be known is a soldier is missing, and there is much speculation.
One alleged militant-insurgent-alqaeda-taliban-tribesman- fighters-whoever the hell we are fighting over there, claims the soldier was captured while leaving the base to go on patrol.
Now, I don’t believe we send soldiers out on patrol alone. So if the soldier was captured as this (whatever umphteenth group he claims to represent) fellow says, then his fellow soldiers would know he was captured. Would they not?
I think we need more info before jumping to conclusions on this one. Since we all know how these animals treat our soldiers. So let’s don’t go there just yet. Prayers up!
A radio news update on this story a few minutes ago mentioned that the soldier had “walked away from the base” and hadn’t been seen since. Anybody got an idea what this means? It almost sounded like they were saying that he’d deserted or something... but then again could have meant just about anything. Anybody else heard anything like that?
Didn't happen in Bush's world either. When it comes to the fate of prisoners in Afganistan, Kipling's advice was spot on.
If the reports I read are true and this soldier walked off the base alone, in the company of some Afghans (who apparently were not even Afghan soldiers) then that was an incredibly irresponsible and idiotic thing to do. I don’t want any harm to come to him but when he is safely back in US hands he needs to answer some tough questions and face whatever punishment he deserves. His reckless act has put countless other US soldiers in danger, who now have to worry about saving his a@@ on top of everything else they have to do.
Any comment Urkel?.......(crickets chirping)
Every caption is misleading. At comcast.net The headline reads US Soldier Kidnapped. Officials confirm blah blah...captured by Taliban. Then when clicking to read the full story, there is a revised headline...”Feared Captured”
Has Obama apologized to the Taliban for encroaching on their territory yet?
Maybe he was captured by the moderate Taliban...
