We are at a defining moment for this nation. If we act now, then we can rebuild our economy in a way that makes it strong, competitive, sustainable and prosperous once more. We can lead this century the same way that we led the last century. But if we don't act, if we let this moment pass, we could see this economy just sputter along for decades -- a slow, steady decline in which the chances for our children and our grandchildren are fewer than the opportunities that were given to us.
And that's contrary to the history of America. One of our core ideas has always been that we leave the next generation better off than us. And that's why we have to act right now.
I know that people say the costs of fixing our problems are great -- and in some cases, they are. The costs of inaction, of not doing anything, are even greater. They're unacceptable. And that's why this town hall and this debate that we're having around health care is so important.
In the last nine years, premiums have risen three times faster than wages for the average family. I don't need to tell you this because you've seen it in your own lives. Even if you've got health insurance -- and 46 million people don't -- if you've got health insurance, you have seen your costs double. They've gone up three times faster than wages. If we do nothing, then those costs are just going to keep on going higher and higher.
If we don't act, that means that more people are going to lose coverage and more people are going to lose their jobs because those businesses are not going to be competitive

OK . Here’s a start:
Debbie cant get insurance because she has cancer . Obama says we need OUR insurance to pay her medical bills because she will go to emergency room which is more expensive and we will pay that. Now if she cant get medicaid NOW because she has too much money or income how will she get free treatment from emergency room? Not to shock Obama voters but she still owes that money if she has money. Now why doesnt Obama propose free health care for her like welfare cases on medicaid? Why call it insurance? Let’s be truthful!
Michael Moore says she can go to Cuba and they’ll fix her right up...
how much is it costing us to fund this off-season campaigning by Zero?
Moore's Sicko, England's Voter Revolution, and our Roadmap to Insolvency
She should go to Canada. They have a great track record for saving cancer patients and heart disease patients alike.
RE :”how much is it costing us to fund this off-season campaigning by Zero?”
Today I was thinking the opposite. Why couldnt Bush use these to sell conservative ideas? Notice Obama is selling the bill before there is a bill. To be fair Obama will sign ANY piece of crap dems send him like Bush did from Republicans.
I am looking 10 years into the futue here.......The guvmnt health care is in place and folks complain about the care and service.
Politicians - “What do you expect? It’s free. If you want better service go to the private practice physicians and pay for it yourself.”
LOL Like that woman in Sicko movie claims she does.
RE :”Politicians - What do you expect? Its free. If you want better service go to the private practice physicians and pay for it yourself.
How about a law that says congress and president’s families MUST go to public option? Congress is not dependent on Social Security.
He’s always on TV pulling some slick, Sham-Wow type bamboozle biz.
I don’t think Bush could have gotten away with it even if he had a superduper cheap plan - the press would have called it out for what it is, campaigning and community activizing (note the question asked by the self-identified SEIU/community activist worker - what can I do to Help You and Zero’s response to get out into the communities and propagandize)
and if Bush had said ‘take the blue pill’ as Zero did in this town meeting, the twittersphere would have lit up like a christmas tree.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the ‘take the blue pill’ comment to sweep college campuses.
big blunder by Zero BIG blunder
FNC was reporting they submitted questions ahead of time and he handpicked the ones he wanted. I watched the entire video last night and you can tell from the questions. Not one asked how a public option would save money when medicare is broke. Not one asked how government can provide competition when it is making the rules and charging those in the private alternatives for the public one with increased taxes.
Obama’s claims that punishing the rich for giving to charity would fund the uninsured is laughable.
