July 2009 sees nearly 6 months since George W Bush entered private life and as we have done in previously monthly threads I have collated photos from the month we are in from previous years.

Tonight I will post July 2001 and July 2002 photos and then over the next few days post 2003 and 2004 photos.

I have also found some photos from this June which I will also post in the next few days starting with one of them as the photo of the month.

PRESIDENTIAL PREPARATIONS PAY OFF FOR WOODWARD
BY Michael McNutt
Published: July 5, 2009

WOODWARD – An enthusiastic crowd came out Saturday evening to welcome former President George W. Bush for his first Oklahoma appearance since leaving the White House earlier this year.

. . . “He’s an awesome guy,” said Mark Dennis of Oklahoma City about Bush. “I love him. I’ve got a lot of respect for him.”

He said the country “is a lot worse” now with Bush gone from the White House. [Mr. Dennis speaks for all DOSErs!]

HUSSEIN’S GUN MAY GO ON DISPLAY AT BUSH LIBRARY
By Don Van Natta Jr.

[I love the following passage from the article]

. . . The George W. Bush Presidential Center will cost $200 million. More than $100 million has already been donated, according to several of Mr. Bush’s friends. The former president has raised much of the money, usually at small luncheons and dinners. Some donors have given as much as $5 million, the friends said.

“The president is working very hard, and the money is rolling in,” one friend said. “People love the man, they think he did a great job, and they know the library is very important to him.”
