What? Why would they do that, when there are cop-killers on death row you could honorary citizenship to?

I think that was a nice thing for the Italians to do.
Why are you badmouthing them?

Do they have a subway in Rome? If they do, I wouldn’t be riding it for the next month or three. If they don’t I wouldn’t be riding the buses. Shopping in the markets may also be risky. <P The members of the ROP aren’t gonna like this.

Kudos to the Italians. I'm sure Obama, never one to be upstaged, will make the Gazan hidnappers honerary U.S. Citizens.

I should have praised the city of Rome instead of all Italians. No slight to the Roman council was intended.

Meanwhile our current government would be more likely to give honorary (or actual) citizenship to a Hamas or Hezzballah suicide bomber whose fuse failed and was captured by the IDF.

Do they have a subway in Rome?I doubt it. They'd probably never get to dig for a full day for running into historical artifacts.

I'm not sure what your inference is. The pirate was committing an internationally recognized act of piracy, and could be subject to the death penalty.
Do you think there is some comparability to the Israeli soldier that is being held, doing something in accordance with international law? I don't.

Glad to help. The last Freepathon went far beyond the time needed to complete the task.
It’s time to man up. We like it here, we need to support the forum. EOS

It was sarcasm directed at France, which made cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal an honorary citizen.
