President Barack Obama says he recognizes the heavy price tag of revamping the health care system but that it would be much more costly to do nothing.
Obama went to a community college in suburban Virginia Wednesday to again press his case for legislation overhauling the system, saying it's "not too soon" to act on the problem.
He spoke as members of Congress continued a Fourth of July week recess away from Washington. The lawmakers will focus anew on the issue when they return next week. Republicans have steadfastly spoken out against Obama's proposed overhaul, saying the country can't afford his choices.
Obama acknowledged that the speed with which he is acting is an issue, saying he recognizes that some people think "we're moving too fast."

Don't touch it.
He loves to use the word “cling”.
Stop Clinging to the American Way. Welcome to AMERIKA 2.0.
You might even say he clings to that word, “cling.”
You mean expelling 25 million illegal dependents?
That could move the needle a bit.
And I'm awfully bitter about that. Now, pardon me while I go clean mah gun.
Cling! Cling! Cling!
We have a winner!
Mines fine too ... Who has broken health care?
Why fix what isn’t broke.
The more I learn about Barry the more I am convinced he is trying to lay the groundwork for true socialism in America.
Me too. It hit me about a month ago that I was subconsciously thinking that “yeah, the health cars system sucks, but I don’t want the government butting in.” Then it hit me: no, it doesn’t suck.
Yes, it is flawed, as are all human endeavors, but it is still the best and most fair on the planet. Fair in that each person has the ability to get as much as he feels he can afford. It is why I had $10,000 deductible when I was making $60k a year. It is all I wanted.
People need to get a grip on the simple fact that for the entire history of man people have gotten injured, sick and even died without government (or insurance) intervention. It has never been a God given (or government given) right.
The older one gets, the more they learn to accept mortality and illness as a part of life. It can be avoided to one degree or another, but like anything else in life, in a free country it all depends on your own personal means to invest in avoiding it, not some socialized tax system.
You should heed you own advice BO.
This man and his admin have NO idea how unprepared our states are for his lovely little over-haul. Half of them are softly out of compliance, and it will take months to get their current Medicad plans cleaned up before they can implement these Robin Hood measures he is planning. This is the crap that keeps me up at night, because I have to approve these measures that basically turn our hospitals over to illegal aliens.
Somebody should ask Osama what problems he has in getting care.
What is it with him and the word ‘cling’? Does he need a fresh pair of undershorts or something?
“bitter clingers”
to Guns, God and the world’s best healthcare!
Yes, he wet his with glee over all the damage he’s doing.
I think the groundwork was laid a long time ago, by FDR. Barry’s just now erecting the above-ground structure.
