If evolution’s target isn’t Christianity,
why pervert the symbol of Christianity “in protest”?

It's not a protest, it's a joke. The people who respond with a larger Jesus fish eating the Darwin fish are taking it in the right spirit. The self-serious author of this article unfortunately lets his persecution complex get in the way of his sense of humor.

I laughed the first time I saw a Darwin fish, although I am Christian.

But there isn’t much question what it means. Not just “I’m an atheist/agnostic evolutionist,” but “My belief supplants and mocks your belief.”

I like the fishhook cartoon up above.

I have never seen where some has made the effort to purchase and install on their car a Darwin hate symbol attacking the Jewish or the Islamic faiths.

Any comedian will tell you that if you have to explain the joke, it wasn't funny.

It probably is a joke, and taken as a joke as often as it's meant to be one.

I also suspect more often than not it's a joke AND a mock...just like the little boy kneeling and praying in front of a cross and then you see the same boy with a smirk urinating on the cross in response.

Typically the same kind of people and in fact I've seen both decals on a car/truck more than once.
