Since everybody else is piling on, let me add my own comment to the fray. If you were one of the people who participated in that Vanity Fair hit piece, and we find out your name, you will be a net drag on any national campaign for the rest of your professional career. Not because you helped the Left go after Governor Palin, but because you are an untrustworthy sneak who is dedicated to propping up the elitist system in DC, not fixing it. Any candidate that hires you will have to overcome the base’s natural reluctance to work with a campaign that would hire someone like you. This can be done; but it’s much easier to hire people with your skill set and a name for basic party loyalty.
If you are a McCain staffer who did not talk to VF, I suggest that you find some way to demonstrate that you aren’t one of the people in the first paragraph. Because until we know who talked, the default assumption is going to be that you may have talked. This will not wreck your career, but it will blight it if the base has anything to say about it. On the bright side, a simple and declarative denial will do; of course, if your denial is a lie and we catch you at it, brush up on your typing skills.

The McCain staffers should remember that McCain was the presidential nominee. They act like Palin was running the show.

Yep. And I stopped even looking at Vanity Fair back in the late 80s when they ran a long story about some homosexual murder. It was so nasty I had to go out on the patio and burn that magazine in the Weber, in the event I died in an accident and someone came to get my belongings, they wouldn’t discover filth there.

This, once again, demonstrates that McCain is not a true maverick, as he claimed.....he is a DC insider protecting the status quo.
These people fear Sarah Palin because she is willing to take on Republicans and Democrats equally, holding anyone’s feet to the fire for malfeasance....something the establishment Republicans do not want.

There is nothing in that article about Romney. Some people seem to have Romney on the brain.
Sick what these McCain staffers are doing....and if they are doing this on behalf of Romney....its time to cut his campaign right now....and clean out the RNC for not standing up to this nonsense. Also, need to force McCain to resign (he has been so silent on this)
Romney would not beat Obama in a general election. The DNC would be running slam ads galore on Romney, his being a Mormon, and how and why Romney’s ancestors left Utah for Mexico.
One thing that Romney has displayed in his life is a compulsion to lie and to tell rather bizarre lies at that, claiming to have marched with Martin Luther King, being a gun owner and a “lifetime” hunter, claiming to have been just a student when as a company vice president and church leader his religion changed their policy on blacks.
It isn’t surprising that the people that work for him have situational ethics and lean towards dishonesty themselves, a leader that lacks character often attracts followers that lack character.
The McQueeg Staffers may as well have been ACORN Morons!
