UNITED NATIONS | Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya vowed to return home Thursday despite a warning from the coup leader that he would be arrested upon arrival. Several regional leaders plan to accompany him on the trip...

A State Department spokeswoman said Thomas Shannon, assistant secretary for Western Hemisphere affairs, likely would meet Mr. Zelaya on Tuesday but that the meeting would not take place at the State Department...

The coup presents some difficulties for the Obama administration: Washington sends millions of dollars to Honduras every year, mostly for humanitarian and military aid. But the payments depend on Honduras remaining a democratic state. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton indicated early Tuesday that the money may not be forthcoming if Mr. Zelaya is not reinstated...

I don't see the problem. Honduras "remains a democratic state." The military hasn't take over. But I am sure our Overlords see this differently.

But the payments depend on Honduras remaining a democratic state.

So what evidence has Absolute Zero presented that Honduras is NOT a democratic state?

Answer: The same as his name.

A return by this Leftist to Honduras is very problematic and will only stoke his followers to the next level. Its a bad decision that will only bred more extreme chaos.

The world bank has cut off loans to Honduras too.

The globalists are showing their hand.

Not only has the military not taken over, but their Parliament and Supreme Court have sanctioned the new President and elections are scheduled for November. What could be more Democratic than that?

I hope we will stop sending them aid, and to most other foreign countries. And that we deoprt their illegals lurking in the US.

Honduras probably won’t let ACORN in to ‘oversee’ the election.

So how could it be democratic without them? /sarc

“Zelaya vowed to return home Thursday despite a warning from the coup leader that he would be arrested upon arrival”

Depressing. You know the truth will never get out when even the Wasgington Times can’t figure out this wasn’t a coup.

“But the payments depend on Honduras remaining a democratic state.”

Could someone please tell me one thing Honduras did that was not completely in keeping with their constitution as written as a Democratic state?

Oh, sure. I’m listening to my local conservative radio station. Whoever they’ve contracted with for national news—ABCBS, NBCBS, CBSBS, whoeverBS— keeps reporting hourly about the “coup.”

Barry Soetoro and his minions like Hilliary always come down on the WRONG side when despots are involved. Barry Soetoro would have bowed to 'Che too.

An Obama-like thug tramples on his nation’s Constitution, hoping to make himself “president-for-life” and naturally the UN and our acting president are all for him. Astounding, but not really surprising.

Yes. It, in effect, makes Barry Goldwater a “coup leader” because he was the Senator who went to the White House to tell Nixon he had to resign.

It’s now clear that world government types see constitutional limits, such as in Honduras, and apparently even our own eligibility requirements for the office of President, as mere impediments, to be quietly ignored if possible, and run over roughshod if the little people object. They will have their new order by hook or by crook.

Excellent question and answer, WayneS. You are absolutely correct. No evidence, not even addressing the fact that it is Honduran Rule of Law to defend its constitution, unlike what O is doing to ours. Pray for the Hondurans..Pray for the rightful constitutional President Micheletti.
