Agreed..., someone that comes to mind just recently is Sanford. He probably should be prosecuted for abandoning his post as governor and not giving someone else authority to act in his absence, being out of the country for five days...
Cleaning house, at home, is always a good thing. In any case, I think that I can safely say that I won’t be voting for Sanford for any Presidential election.
But, I would vote for Palin... :-)

I understand that you might not have been thinking of Sanford, but I was using him as the most recent example of such...
I think he should be kicked out of office (along with all those other crooks, too). But, I don’t have a say in that, since I’m not in that state. However, I will have a say in it, if he ever attempts to run for President... :-)

Yes, I noticed that error as well. As for his being the "good" President Roosevelt, yes, but only by comparison to the other. He did contribute in his own way to the growth of Big Government.
Sanford is not a crook in the sense the others are. Yes; he did wrong and should be drummed out of office; but I don’t believe he is a crook. And he is not the latest example.

Well, I actually think it’s a crime in terms of dereliction of duty, in leaving the state without anyone able to do anything, if something came up, in that period of time. I think it was five days.
AND..., you might not know it, but according to what I read, he couldn’t get back any sooner than five days, because that was the very next flight he was able to take to get back. There weren’t any flights in between, if an emergency had come up.
That’s criminal for the people of that state to have been without any governor for five days...
But, of course, there *are* other criminal things, too — that other politicians do. Some are of a higher order of criminality, and others are of a lower order, according to the opinions of different people.
It’s just that abandoning the people of that state to having *no governor* for five days and being unable to return in the meantime seems pretty darned criminal...

Now, here’s the problem. From what I understand, he has to be specifically authorized to do so. It has to be a sort of “transfer of power” and not one that is like — “Oh, since we can’t find the governor, you get to do it now...”
It doesn’t work that way. And Sanford refused to authorize the change in power while he was gone. Thus, he left the state “governor-less” during those five days.
If an emergency had happened, they would have been powerless to do anything about it. That’s “criminal” for state governance...
Do you have proof he refused? I think they would find a legal way.
Besides Sanford is the least of our worries. How do you feel about all the thievery going on with Obama and the Congress?
I was going by what I read, as we all do on Free Republic. I’m not a citizen of that state, so it’s really up to them to decide the matter. I bring it up, since you talk about criminal things and this was an instance of something just happening.
But, that does not take away from any others and their criminal matters, either. You see, I don’t think you should just concentrate on one group and ignore the other. I figure you should go after all criminals, no matter where they are. And that would be on both sides of the aisle...

Take a look at what Bill Clinton did personally while he was Governor of Arkansas. He actually raped a woman. That is criminal and he is walking around scott free.

Absolutely, and I agree there 100%. I was saying during that time that it was out on the news, prominently, that he should be convicted for that. You’re talking about Broaddrick. I remember that one very clearly.

This would be a great way to discredit Obama’s political enemies. The seller referred to vets who would protect him from Obama’s thugs “with guns.” That goes thud...too much like a left winger’s homeland security stereotypes.
If they are obamaistas, they are hoping someone bites so they can go to a left wing blog and “tell the truth” about how it’s fake. hahahaha those stupid “right wingers with guns.”
E-bay may know it is fake and really be trying to protect anyone from falling for the scam rather than the assumption by some that they are trying to protect Obama.
