Republicans believe a handful of junior House Democrats may have taken a career-ending vote by supporting the controversial energy bill last week and are planning to launch an ad campaign in targeted districts to try to seal their fate.
The National Republican Congressional Committee is planning to air TV and radio commercials and unleash robocalls against Democrats who hail from districts that could be adversely affected by the narrowly passed legislation or are GOP-leaning...
Those likely to find themselves with targets on their back after the 219-212 vote: freshman Reps. Harry Teague of New Mexico, Betsy Markey of Colorado, John Boccieri of Ohio, Thomas Perriello of Virginia and Alan Grayson of Florida and second-termer Zack Space of Ohio.
The GOP’s hope is do to these vulnerable Democrats what Republicans famously did to former Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, the Pennsylvania Democrat who ensured that her career was limited to one term when she cast the deciding vote for President Bill Clinton’s budget package in 1993.
“There’s a reason why over 40 Democrats in swing districts voted against this,” said NRCC spokesman Ken Spain. “They realized that voting for [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi’s bill wasn’t worth the price of millions of dollars in TV ads that would be required to put up what will ultimately be a futile defense of this vote. The question is: What were the others thinking?”
Jennifer Crider, spokeswoman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, fired back that the near-unanimous Republican opposition to the bill — only eight of them supported it — would only underscore the perception that they’re acting as obstructionists.
“Republicans have shown time and time again that they don’t offer solutions; they’re just saying no, whether it’s the economic recovery bill or the green-jobs bill,” Crider said. “There’s a reason why their brand is so damaged.”

While I agree that these eight dirtbags should be replaced, I disagree with your suggestion.
The NRCC (or any other national Republican organization) has absolutely no business endorsing anybody in a primary election. They tried this with Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania and Charley Crist in Florida. The Republican party is not a top down organization, it is a ground up type organization. We should never be told who the party wants us to elect, it should be the other way around.
Which reminds me of an old joke.

But when eight RINOs on such a critical vote go against the party, then the national committee should not support their reelection with campaign funds. The NRCC is going after vulnerable demos on this very issue. Therefore, the NRCC should withhold all support for the eight RINOs that voted this way. And if there is a strong challenger in any of those districts, the challenger should be able to appeal to the NRCC for support and receive it.
But I suspect she infuriated the thousands of people who jammed her telephone switchboard the day of the energy bill vote. I know she infuriated me. Her staff told me nothing but laughable lies and has yet to answer a very thoughtful and balanced email I sent her on the subject.
Among the lies when I called her Washington office:

A. She hasn't decided yet. (translation: yes)
A. She hasn't told us. (translation: yes)
Q. Well, that's odd. She's listed everywhere as a solid yes vote.
A. Well, I don't know where you heard that. (translation: challenge my intelligence.)
Q. I understand there were 300 pages of amendments last night. Has she read them?
A. Staffers are looking them over right now. (translation: no)
Q. But has she herself read all of these amendments?
A. We're looking them over. (translation: no)
Q. I had a hard time getting through your switchboard. Are you receiving many calls.
A. Oh, yes.
Q. Are they mostly against the bill?
A. Well, we're not really counting. (translation: they're overwhelmingly against).
Q. So, you're not keep a tally?
A. Oh no, we're keeping a tally.
Q. Well, roughly what's the ratio of pros and cons.
A. Oh, about equal. (translation: they're overwhelmingly against).
I'm more pissed off about all the lies than I am about her vote, which is really to be expected, considering her ultra-leftest bent.
I really wish I had first called to congratulate her because I heard she was going to vote for the bill, to hear what they said to that.
At any rate, I can't wait until her next election, as I'm prepared to donate big bucks to her opponent, and do whatever else I can to defeat her.

You have to get tough with these jerks. That is the only thing they understand. You have to tell them in no uncertain terms that you will make it your personal business, your mission in life to make sure your representative is not reelected if they do not vote the way you want them to on an issue like this. You tell them you will tell your family and all your friends and neighbors not to reelect them. You tell them you will raise money and funds for their challengers. That is the kind of threat they understand and may take heed for.
