Countering criticism that he's done little on gay rights, President Barack Obama commemorated the 40th anniversary of the birth of the modern movement by welcoming its leaders to the White House and reaffirming his commitment to their top priorities.
"I want you to know: You have our support," Obama told members of the core Democratic constituency as he and first lady Michelle Obama hosted a cocktail-and-appetizer reception in the East Room for gay pride month. It's been some four decades since the police raid on New York City's gay Stonewall Inn that spurred gay rights activism across the country.
As activists work to change minds and change laws, Obama added: "I will not only be your friend, I will continue to be an ally and a champion and a president who fights with you and for you."
Since Obama took office in January, some activists have complained that Obama has not followed through on his campaign promises on issues they hold dear and has not championed their causes from the White House, including ending the ban on gays in the military.

Obama has not followed through on his campaign promises.Not true he said he had a plan and his plan was to destroy the American economy and it is working his every move is to take this country down.

That is so true! Back when we had cable, I used to love the show “House Hunters”. That is until every other episode was devoted to a gay couple on a quest for the perfect residence. And now a gay extravaganza at the White House! May the Lord have mercy upon the soul of America.
I fear many of them have become useful idiots of the left.
If they had only listened to Barry Goldwater.... Barry knew that personal freedom is given to those individuals as an inherent right. Not through the creation of more laws and more government agencies. And that freedom comes with personal responsibility as part of the social contract.
Someday this is going to bite all of the Gay Mafia on the butt and not in a pleasant way.
I fear the reprisal that may one day may come down upon my some of my gay friends. They cheered when Obama was elected and he has done nothing for them because he is only interested in his own power.
A good half of the gay people I know are not only out of the closet, but they are obnoxiously out of the closet. I shed no tear for Perez Hilton, he poked a Hornet’s nest with a stick and when you are an awful little human being you get your comeuppance.
The other half of gay people live their lives in private, they are not in the “closet”, they are just very discreet about it, they dress well and are polite and they don’t believe the world owes them something, they have many more straight friends than the obnoxious contingent. They are more emotionally healthy and don’t require expensive therapy sessions to deal with all their pent up hate and aggression. They grumble silently when they see some gay parade on the news which is totally lewd and in bad taste and say silently to them self “What a disaster!”
Which one of the two above groups will be the first against the wall when the communist revolution comes?
