A top Republican senator has ordered an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency’s alleged suppression of a report that questioned the science behind global warming.
The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin’s report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined.
“He came out with the truth. They don’t want the truth at the EPA,” Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla, a global warming skeptic, told FOX News, saying he’s ordered an investigation. “We’re going to expose it.”
The controversy comes after the House of Representatives passed a landmark bill to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, one that Inhofe said will be “dead on arrival” in the Senate despite President Obama’s energy adviser voicing confidence in the measure.
According to internal e-mails that have been made public by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, Carlin’s boss told him in March that his material would not be incorporated into a broader EPA finding and ordered Carlin to stop working on the climate change issue. The draft EPA finding released in April lists six greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, that the EPA says threaten public health and welfare.
An EPA official told FOXNews.com on Monday that Carlin, who is an economist — not a scientist — included “no original research” in his report. The official said that Carlin “has not been muzzled in the agency at all,” but stressed that his report was entirely “unsolicited.”

On another related topic that you raised — if you expect the GOP to fight for the small-government conservatism you believe in, I’m afraid you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. The GOP isn’t about small government any more.
It’s dead on arrival by the time the Senate brings it to the floor. Like Boehner says, it’s a pile of crap!

Others should join in, but Inhofe is the one to lead - he’s on the Environment and Public Works Committee and has the knowledge and track record going way back.
He’s done great work.
I would not insure Mr. Carlin or his boss.
The character attacks have already started. Expect to see Mr. Carlin relieved of his job and in some kind of therapy ...reeducation camp.
This will soon be brushed away as was the NASA report of additional contradiction of the great global warming farce.

Inhofe has all of the GOP lined up to support him with the exception of two GOP Senators — can everyone guess who they are? Farthest state northeast is their home.
Then there are quite a few Dems that are going to vote note out here in Middle America and Landrieu in LA which is why he knows that it will never pass. No way will Nelson of NE vote Yes. Same with Bachus from what you hear.
No way the Dems get 60 and Reid knows it. The vote is not supposed to take place until after the August recess so all of you need to go to Town Hall meetings of your Senators when they are back in your State and register your disgust with this bill in person.
Why on earth would an economist submit original material on the science of the globull warming hoax?
If he did the leftist dildos of the EPA would reject his study as unqualified. Of course he would cite the work of others who are qualified to comment on the science of this hoax.
A form of this bill has been voted on since the early 90’s and has died in the Senate everytime. We need to keep the pressure on so this bill NEVER passes.
Inhofe has been leading the charge to kill it in the Senate for years.

They also aren’t telling you that the bill codifies authority of the UN to instruct the secretary of state and secretary of energy how to apply regulations, fees and fines. It puts the executive branch under the control of the UN.
Did you wonder how the Ambassador to the UN became the spokesman for the Navy on the matter of the North Korean ship with the nuclear materials? Your answer lies in that bill.
We need to see to that in 2009 and get as many of the Rhino’s and commies at the same time...

You’re being distracted by the real intent of the bill, which is to give over control of the executive branch offices of energy and state to the United Nations. The United Nations is cited 22 times in the bill as the authority for regulation, fees and fines. It instructs the secretaries to follow the United Nations rules.
That is the constitution killer.
The Hondurans saw through the globalist game going on with their president, to make himself a dictator. They arrested him because he failed to uphold the Constitution.
We have most of Congress and of course the white house and executive branch failing to uphold the Constitution here. We have more to lose than the Hondurans, and yet, we’re bubbling on about the lack of science in the global warming ‘crisis’ when our real problem is that the bill destroys national sovereignty once and for all.
