Supreme Court Reverses Obama SCOTUS nominee
Examiner.com ^ | 6-29-209 | Dianna Cotter

Ruling in favor of white firefighters in New Haven Conn. the Supreme Court reversed that decision today, saying that the firefighters were denied promotions because of their race, which is reverse discrimination. Because of today’s decision, reverse discrimination is now illegal.

This decision is expected to significantly affect Sotomayor’s nomination, as she has been identified as a judge who is very willing to rule in favor of race where ever the law allows her to. Being a member of the racist group “La Raza” which is the Hispanic community’s KKK, does not help. As it was noted by the Canadian Paper, Canada Free Press:

“La Raza teaches that Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington State make up an area known as “Aztlan” — a fictional ancestral homeland of the Aztecs before Europeans arrived in North America.

These areas belong to the Latinos and Latinas and must be surrendered to “La Raza” once enough immigrants, legal or illegal, come to constitute a majority, as in Los Angeles. Once this is achieved, the current borders of the United States will simply be obliterated."

I sure hope this destroys the possibility of this woman becoming a member of SCOTUS. Racists have no place on the court.

Thats an insult to Harriet. At least she isn’t a racist.

I for one am very tired of the left defining what racism is, when in reality they themselves are using race as a means to an end. That is equally racist. Sotomayor is a racist, she use race and has used it to get to where she is. This disqualifies her right there. Racists suck, no matter which side of the issue they define themselves being on, a racist uses race as a means to an end and it should have no place in our laws.

Racists have no place on the court.

Of course they don't, but what worries me is it was only a 5:4 decision. That means there were four other dimwits that agreed with her (one of them was Ginsburg, but anyone could have predicted that).

Affirmative action is an abomination. Any actions taken in conformity to it are illegal and unconstitutional.

i see your point, but screaming racist isn’t going to work. we need to portray her as an intellectual lightweight. by reminding democrats about meyers aborted nomination, we associate their ‘wise latina’ with images of unqualification - which WILL get the attention of some dems.

the woman is incompetent and this needs to be gotten out.

From Scalia’s opinion:

“Petitioners were denied promotions for which they qualified because of the race and ethnicity of the firefighters who achieved the highest scores on the City’s exam. The District Court threw out their case on summary judgment, even though that court all but conceded that a jury could find that the City’s asserted justification was pretextual. The Court of Appeals then summarily affirmed that decision.

The dissent grants that petitioners’ situation is “unfortunate” and that they “understandably attract this Court’s sympathy.” But “sympathy” is not what petitioners have a right to demand. What they have a right to demand is evenhanded enforcement of the law—of Title VII’s prohibition against discrimination based on race. And that is what, until today’s decision, has been denied them”.

I wonder if the wise Latina jurist understands Nino’s clarity of thought. He didn’t use any big words, so she should have trouble grasping the text. Maybe a Spanish speaking Freeper can translate the opinion and e-mail it to her.

The criteria should always be the most qualified person on the court.

Since Sotomayor’s decision is now proven erroneous, this is de facto evidence that she should no longer be considered.

Thank God we have SCOTUS head Roberts who went above the policital fray and made this court hearing on this timeschedule.

Zer0 and his handler must be furious at Roberts, not on the ruling, but that Roberts did not accede to waiting until after the hearings to make the announcement.

Sotomayor is scuttled.

No, Chris Dodd can step to the plate and defend Sonia’s decision, and the people of CT will then understand.

Our problem is that the “little man” thinks Sonia is “on his side”. He cannot understand the issues.

"From personal experience, I can tell you there are two sides to racism. The act of discriminating against someone because of their race or skin color is racist. The act of using that victim status for personal gain is also racist. The use of the victim status is today the most common form of racism and it’s time for it to stop."

I replied to you earlier but guess that was when FR was down. I am just a gringa but I have lived in south Texas all my life. ..and La Raza is a valid organization...granted there are some extremists as all organizations have, but the racist thing is making my hair hurt a bit since latinas are caucasians. I have never understood this. Guess ya’ll are talking ethnicity...and I have not found any objections to sotomayor yet tho this particular ruling I am so glad to see reversed.
