Some Republican members of Congress want the U.S. Census Bureau to end a 2010 Census partnership with Acorn, the community organizing group that was hit by accusations of voter-registration fraud in the 2006 and 2008 elections.
Acorn, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, signed up in February with the bureau to be a "2010 Census Partner," which includes, among other things, identifying job candidates, encouraging its members to participate in the count and distributing literature explaining the importance of the census.
But in the wake of accusations that some former Acorn employees engaged in voter registration fraud in the 2006 and 2008 elections, the partnership isn't sitting well with some Republicans on Capitol Hill who worry that Acorn could skew results. There's a lot at stake since the census is used to dole out money to states and localities and to allocating seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Rep. Patrick McHenry of North Carolina, the ranking Republican on the panel that oversees the Census Bureau, is demanding that the bureau explain how the partnership with Acorn fits its stated mission of selecting partners that will not "distract from the Census Bureau's mission."
Several other conservatives would like to see the Census Bureau sever its ties to Acorn altogether. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah) said in an interview that he plans to introduce a bill that would require mail carriers to count the population as a way of keeping Acorn out of the process.

The stench of far left politics is all over ACORN’s involvement in the Census (as with everything that scummy organization’s involved with). I’m grateful for the Republicans for standing up to this, and for whatever help they give against this modern version of the Tweed Ring which is the Obama administration.
...another reason NOT to self-identify, yourself....
white / male, GET OUTTA HERE....(It did happen).
And it’s up to individual citizens to fill out census forms according to Constitutional requirements—number of people in the house, period.
That is all they are getting here in NM.
I have already told the pre -census taker that the half address, is the pump house electric meter, there are no other residences.
I don’t think I’m required to do anything for the census.
The census is already cooked and duped. The hiring process has started and those hired have been screened to be “sensitive” on past “under counting” of minorities and illegals.
Example: There was an opening for a supervisor in a large area of Northern WI. A person (white guy)I know of applied, that person had a management degree and was available as he lost his job as IT mgr. at a large WI co. that got sold. He had the interview with the head of census hiring for IL & WI, and in the interview he let slip he had worked campaigns for a Republican candidate in WI putting together lists of voters & voting patterns (what was he thinking?).
That ended the interview as the census person (Black gal) said “we really want someone who will bring in counts of minorities, Hispanics and undocumented immigrants and you may not be right for that.” I bet this isn’t an isolated example.
Republicans had a President, Congress, Senate, and a “fair” (equally balanced Supreme Court) for 6 years. They didn’t play “hardball” (which would also have been fair ball, since all they had to elimate was funding to the left). They didn’t play hardball because they were mainly moderates helped into canidacy by the mainstream Republican organizations, which are fighting to stay a strong minority in government rather than trying to take the whole game and change America. We conservatives still outnumber the liberals, but another few years of indoctrination, left-wing funding through government, cheating at the ballot box so that regular Americans become dispirited, and we won’t. My wife has friends from Venezuela who think they see what happened to their country happening here. My grandmother switched to Republican, once, during Clinton, and then left when we didn’t bring him down, because after a lifetime of “winning” with the Dems, she didn’t understand why we would choose to lose when we had him in our cross-hairs and required only a party line vote to pull the trigger. Republicans are losers and choose to stay that way. Conservatives are a minority but the tail doesn’t wag the dog as the liberals do with the Dems. We aren’t as tough politically.
Rant over.

I heard that people in safe Red States can register pets.
You know, since Obama’s nominee claims that animals can sue people.
It’s time for a new party. The Conservative Party with people like Sarah Palin
That is the only question I will answer.
Ping
Heh, I did the same on another thread, four posts before I figured out the system was down.

Nobody that even resembles anyone from ACORN better not even attempt to enter my property or I’m calling my local police and I know them all personally and they are all Republicans.
