Congress had best pay attention or....

Yes, this seems like a good way to slow down some of the confiscatory lunacy going on at the federal level. I’d be willing to move to such a state to avoid the national health care, for instance.

Just a matter of curiosity: I can't recall right now, of the other half dozen State Legislature passed resulutions, why there haven't been at least another one or two signed by governors.
Please ~ping~ me to articles relating to the 10th Amendment/States Rights so I can engage the pinger.
I've stopped scouring threads and unilaterally adding names to the ping list, so if you want on or off the list just say so.

Don’t know what happened but I lost the ping list from the address window on the previous post — once more with feeling!

Sorry about the double ping.
We need more states to do this.
Because we have a communist government and they would be writing the new constitution. What we have is perfectly fine if legislators would just follow it.
While all these states are passing “resolutions”, Montanas going one better.
Telling the feds to take their guns laws and put them where the sun don’t shine. Firearms, clips, accessories made in Montana will soon be stamped “MADE IN MONTANA”, and cannot be taken out of state.
But intrastate, you will be able to purchase and use them - no restrictions, no background checks.
Having a little computer trouble, FGS? You have my sympathies. The weather’s been a little flashy and rumbly around here lately, and every time we have a storm run through, my connection goes flaky, and then bye-bye.
It’s the flaky part that gets me in trouble.
I’m waiting for a state with a beach....
Awesome news for this Tennessean, but I sure would have liked to have seen stronger language than "urging Congress to recognize Tennessee's Sovereignty..." How about DEMAND Congress recognize Tennessee's sovereignty under the 10th Amendment or else we're outta here! Stick your Marxism where the Sun don't shine, Obamalamadingdong!
I’ve always thought TN would be a nice place to live.
Some states have stronger wording, demanding the fedgov “cease and desist”.
It doesn’t really matter how strong this initial wording is - it has no teeth. It’s just a matter of “serving up the ball” and seeing how the fedgov reacts.
They will likely try to take a non-confrontational route, yet will not yield any of their arrogation of power.
It becomes a ping pong match between the states and the fedgov, stepping it up on each volley. At some point, the “ka-tuc” of the ball becomes a “bang”.
Even if everything goes “according to plan” and we have a bunch of free states not under socialist control, or even a whole new entity with a newly formed central government -
we still have the problem of the “elite” who want to control others and the “sheep” who want to be taken care of
voting in the exact same gov’t that we have now.
I’m sure the founders thought the Constitution was a strict safeguard against that - but look what happened in just 70 years.
Do I need a password to be accepted into the new country or will by FReepername do?
Don’t get to excited about Tn. Crime is running rampart, and not just in the projects.
The dim bulbs had to filibuster the voter ID bill this past session, so the State Sovereignty issue never got started.
