Not too long ago, Iran took members of the UK’s own military as prisoners and the UK at the time made it very clear that force would not be used to secure their release.
Do you really expect the UK to do *anything* about the arrest of local Iranians that were working for the UK embassy? Not a hope in hell...
I do wonder how things like this will develop without an American administration to take the lead and take the heat or to back them up when they need it.
They are going to find American leadership and participation pretty much absent.
I am sure Iran is shaking in its boots.
Europe is not/not taking a leading role in peacekeeping. Most European countries are spending about 1% of GDP on defense. They must choose between guns and butter and they are choosing butter. We will be in the same situation in the not too distant future.

These are Moslem employees aren’t they? Certainly the UK Islamofascists are going to be jumping up and down over what’s going on.
Iran has recognized that the West, individually and collectively really has no balls at all. Iran has maybe one ball, and though very small, it is sufficient until any Western country decides that it can get it up in the morning.
