Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says soldiers rousted him out of bed, beat his body guards and arrested him in his pajamas in what he criticized as "a coup" and "a kidnapping."
Zelaya told a local television station Sunday that he is at the airport in San Jose, capital of Costa Rica.
He said he would not recognize any attempt to name a replacement for him following his detention earlier Sunday.
Zelaya says he will be meeting with diplomats and stressed he wanted to serve out his term, which ends in early 2010. He called for talks.

I suppose he can call it what he wants ... bottom line is he is out of power and out of the country.

Hopefully, the Roman Catholic bishop will not intervene on behalf of this Communist twirp, as was the case when Venezuela’s military staged a coup against Chavez early in his reign. That was one of the biggest blunders in South American history and has caused grief to millions of people.
The should have shot the communist in the head and tossed him off the balcony of the presidential palace. Then his “recognition” of the coup wouldn’t have really mattered.
Is our media too focused on their boy-wonder president to do their job and give us relevant news on what's going on in the world, as if all they care about is the next wonderful thing he has to say or do will usher in a thousand years of world peace (Gee, what does that make me think of?)?

No, Honduras has been pretty stable since the '80's. Crime has been going up but thats only because as more people become prosperous there is more stuff to steal..........
I think the major crime is vehicle theft and unfortunately most folks with vehicles don't have access to insurance like we do.
My last trip there our rented van was broken into twice in the span of about 3 days.........
Big deal!!! He is not needed anyway. He can just go live with Chavez.
