Actually Venezuela has F-16’s and Su-30’s. Honduras has a handful of F-5 Tigers from the 60’s...

They might have them, but can they use them? Besides, wars are won on the ground not in the skies.

Maybe Ozer0 is attending an AA meeting with his fashion icon wife.

Seems there is more than the veggie garden cucumbers getting pickled at the White House these days.

“Zelaya was detained shortly before voting was to begin on a constitutional referendum the president had insisted on holding even though the Supreme Court ruled it illegal and everyone from the military to Congress and members of his own party opposed it.
Zelaya was taken into military custody at his house outside the capital, Tegucigalpa, and whisked away to an air force base on the outskirts of the city...”

Hmmmm. Why would the White House Resident be upset? Some Marxist agenda not working out?

Two thoughts:

1. I wonder what sort of military sea and airlift capability Venezuela has in actually getting troops in the area.

2. The US military has a Joint Task Force in Honduras at Soto Cano Air Base.

Freaking Left Wing Commies thinking that the military is going to sit back and watch what has happened in these other countries happen there.

Chavez has been interfering with other countries up and down the coast trying to spread his theory of government
Lets see which side Obama lands on, since he is a twisted left winger, he may be confused.

Ecuador? The country which harbors the FARC? They can STFU.

As for Honduras, we are seeing what happens when politicians get out of control, the people or the army; or both; take out the garbage.

It's going to happen here one day ...

Poor Barack... he is being tested early and often...

The Venezuelian economy is in shambles because of Hugo's interference... if Hugo makes a military move... and fails... the population is going to turn against him.

I assume that given the fact they have been flying them for years, then yes they can "use them". Air superiority is key in any conflict. I've no idea what the hell Chavez might actually do, but if this isn't just bluster and he actually does something, the likelihood will be it will come from the air.

This is where you see appeasement in action, they are going to make a big show to get something for free.

This will happen again and again until they think they can just take over entire countries.

The appeasement escalating crisises have been set in motion.

...if Hugo makes a military move... and fails... the population is going to turn against him.

The people already are against him. Trouble is, they don't have the means to overthrow him while the military is still backing him. Same as the situation in Iran... The people are disarmed.
