The people already are against him. Trouble is, they don't have the means to overthrow him while the military is still backing him. Same as the situation in Iran... The people are disarmed.

Venezuela is still a democracy, so far as I know. The people elected him in 1998, 2000, and 2006. I don’t see why they cannot unelect him if they wish.
