TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (CNN) -- The military arrested Honduras President Jose Manuel Zelaya on Sunday morning, the same day he vowed to follow through with a referendum that the country's Supreme Court had ruled illegal, local media reported.
The president was arrested at his residence and transported aboard a military plane to an unknown destination, the newspaper La Prensa reported.

Arresting a leftist president! That’s good news.
To: Leftism is Mentally Deranged
I know people who lived in countries were the military picked the president. It really sucks.
In this case the President was apparently acting illegally, in a power grab, but the Army is hardly ever a fountain of Democratic reform, although it seems to worked out for Chile.

From Wikipedia FWIW: “In the first year of being in office around 11 of his ministers resigned due to corruption. During his term corruption amongst politics has increased.”
Sounds familiar.

The president was pulling a “Chavez”. He wants to make Honduras a socialist state.
Chavez, Morales, Castro have bemoaned his arrest.

Interesting that you ask.
This morning Hugo Chavez called on Obama to condemn the arrest of the president.
Will Obama stand up to condemn a man who is trying to re-write the consitution and impose socialism?

I so want to say something. It doesn’t have anything to do with being hanged by the neck until dead.

At least the Honduran Supreme Court considered its Constitution in making their ruling. If they followed the example of the US Supreme Court and the Federal Courts, they would have discovered that no one in Honduras had any standing in the case.

Obama will cut off US aid to Honduras until they reinstate the socialist dictator wannabe. The Kenyan is afraid that he will be the next socialist to be ousted and sent into exile.
