WASHINGTON Republicans concerned about the Obama administration's big spending on economic stimulus, energy and health care are asking, "Where are the jobs?"
"The president and Democrats in Congress claim this spending binge is necessary to put Americans back to work," House Republican leader John Boehner said Saturday in the Republican radio and Internet address. "They promised unemployment would not rise above 8 percent if their trillion-dollar stimulus was passed.
"But our nation has lost nearly 3 million jobs this year. Unemployment has soared above 9 percent. And now the president admits that unemployment will soon reach double digits.
"After all of this spending, after all of this borrowing from China, the Middle East, our children and our grandchildren, where are the jobs?" Boehner said.

You think it’s bad now partner, wait until cap and trade cuts-in, wait until we get ripped for health insurance for people too stupid or too lazy to work and buy it.
Wait until the payments come due on the borrowed money, wait until the big housing bust comes, the housing bust we have now is just a predictor of the one to come.
Dont forget Barney Frank wants to make loans easier for the section 8’ers to get.
You aint seen nothing yet. This mess isnt over, it’s just starting.
They are floating around in space like the bill they just signed.
Elections DO have consequences.
P.S. Take those 8 Republicans stooges who just voted for Cap and Trade and trade them for the Democrats who voted against.
They are no good to us as Republicans , let them go join Sphincter.
Time for the Club for Growth and the Chamber of Commerce to run an advertisment - for 2 weeks, that says, “When GM and Chrylser closed hundreds of dealersships, at the orders of the government, 200,000 small business people and their employees lost jobs. How many jobs did the VP say they have created so far? 150,000. That means they have a long way to go to make up for their own job killing actions. Call congress tell them Cap and Trade sounds like another Obama job killing government program.” Most people think the GM business was bad this will make the point government is not good at business.
In other words, Boehner believes that Federal spending is legitimate if it "creates jobs"?
Mr. Boehner, how can spending taxpayers money create more jobs than it destroys?
Mexico, China, India, United Arab Emerates, Pakistan, Sri Lanka. Anywhere but the USA (way to go government supported unions!).
Foreign owned manufacturers with US operations eligible for lucrative R&D tax credit
Alternative energy hurt by windmill shortage
But for some renewable-energy companies in Europe, where wind power has been in vogue for almost two decades, the logjam is a lucrative opportunity. These firms anticipated a shortage of turbines and locked in orders with makers. They're now using their considerable buying power to gobble up smaller utilities in the U.S. that couldn't otherwise get their hands on turbines.
Snippet from comments: Walking on it (carefully, with proper shoes) is ok. Cleaning it with water jet is ok - has to be done at least once a year - the uneven plastic surface is a magnet for soot, dust, etc. In cold climates, it is a magnet for snow (unlike tilted glass panels). Scraping and scrubbing is not recommended (may lower efficiency and even damage the laminates). Read here: http://www.marcegaglia.com/building/pdf/man_mont_Solar_EN_magg09.pdf
Don't expect these things to last 20 years (Unisolar's warranty is 20 years at 80% rated power, but it likely won't hold, based on some data by NREL)
Snippet from comments: And, by the way, a $2K system, at today's prices, even after all rebates and tax incentives (if you are lucky!), will probably get you just 500 Watt peak worth of laminates, which will save you less than $150 a year in electricity costs.
Another symptom of his FAILED PRESIDENCY!
It was never about America or Jobs, it was always and forever about the mid east leaders personal bitc*. and our current phony figurehead squatter soiling the Whitehouse.
You forgot the civilian security force.
Yes—the civilian security force, which has also been in business for three decades. They’re busybody nags in minivans and small SUVs. They have pit bulls and indulge in meth every now and then. They know all of the local public officials, know which families are homeschooling, prevent real families from building on their own properties, falsify government documents, have kids taken away from real families having water systems repaired, etc.
Obama promises to give them raises and new job titles, ‘cause the family matters of slaves were dictated by plantation owners’ wives—practices and philosophies that continue this day. ;-)
I remember when Porkulus was being debated and voted on, it was needed to put people to work. There were shovel ready projects just waiting to be funded.
Then Joe Biden recently said we guessed wrong on unemployment. Would Joe have let the Bush administration use an excuse like that, if this were happening under Bush’s watch???????
And what about Porkulus? Now we find out that only a small amount of the $787 billion has been spent yet. The economy continues to contract, and the money already set aside to deal with that is not being spent! If Porkulus was so important, why in the sam hill don’t they spend that money?????? Esp. considering unemployment continues to rise, and Obama himself expects it to go above 10% before things improve????
Then what the was emergency about passing Porkulus in the first place?????
Stimulus was never about creating or saving jobs......It’s about giving the Gov’t and Obama more power...In Obama’s eyes he’s been wildly successfull..
Boehner’s a real joke, isn’t he? What about all the spending the Republicans did while they were in power? Their stupidity is what gave us this miserable Dem administration and Congress.
My husband was laid off in March and hasn’t had any success finding a new job. I’m really getting worried. 50-something males are not in demand, even with a CPA and years of experience.
The simple truth it was all about HIM, the mid east leaders personal bitc*, HIM first, last and always HIM, HIM, HIM.
Reviving the U.S. economy is not a priority of Obama or the Democrats. Instead their agenda is to create monolithic, trillion-dollar government programs that benefit cronies and offer unlimited opportunities to steal billions.
The Bush spending was a fleabite compared to this.
