Serbia: Angry reaction to Bulgaria’s release of former Kosovo PM Agim Ceku

Belgrade, 26 June (AKI) – Serbian leaders have reacted angrily to a Bulgarian court's decision to release former Kosovo prime minister and war crimes suspect Agim Ceku, whose extradition is being sought by Belgrade. Deputy prime minister Ivica Dacic said that the decision of Bulgaria’s court would not help “good neighbourly relations” between the two countries.

Ceku was arrested on Tuesday at a border crossing between Macedonia and Bulgaria by police acting on a Serbian Interpol arrest warrant. But he was set free by a Bulgarian court on Thursday.

“Obviously, the work of Interpol is burdened by political pressures on judiciary organs,” said Dacic, who is also a police minister.

Ceku, who was Kosovo prime minister from 2006 to 2008, had been arrested on three previous occasions in Slovenia, Hungary and Colombia, but each time was released.

He was formerly a commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army which began a rebellion against Serbian rule in 1998, and has been held responsible by Serbian authorities for the deaths of 669 Serbs and 18 members of other minorities in Kosovo under the “chain of command" principle.

Although Serbia demanded Ceku’s extradition on the basis of the international arrest warrant, justice minister Snezana Malovic said she never got a reply from the Bulgarian government.

“This matter must be discussed seriously, because it hampers police cooperation in the struggle against crime, terrorism and war crimes,” Dacic said.

“Had something like that happened in Serbia, we would have reason to be ashamed tonight,” said foreign minister Vuk Jeremic, referring to the Bulgarian court decision.

Kosovo declared independence from Serbia with the support of western powers last year and Belgrade has practically no jurisdiction over its former province, which was put under UN administration in 1999.

Kosovo president Fatmir Sejdiu was quoted by the Albanian daily Koha ditore on Friday saying Interpol should not act on the Serbian arrest warrant.

If it were up to Belgrade, all Kosovo leaders who fought for independence would be arrested, he said.

Amnesty International claimed on Thursday there was no reason why Ceku shouldn’t be extradited to Serbia.

“The Bulgarian authorities should extradite Agim Ceku promptly to Serbia where his case should be prosecuted in line with international fair trial standards,” the statement said.

It called on the UN administration in Kosovo (UNMIK) not to obstruct Ceku's extradition.

Kosovo media reported that foreign diplomats and UNMIK had intervened on Ceku’s behalf, demanding his release.

Ceku himself has said that his extradition “wouldn’t be in anyone’s interest and would aggravate international relations”.

Serbia needs to form a group like Isreal did after the Munich massacre. Find these guys, and just take 'em out. Wherever they might be.

I still think that's what the US should have done after 9/11. Think of the and lives and money we would have saved in Afghanistan and Iraq. As it stands, we just keep creating more refugee camps which are like "Terrorist Super-factories".

As long as Croatia's version didn't have any ties to the Ustashe, and they only took out the likes of Arkan and similar criminals, I'd have no problem.

As for a similar organization attempted by the Bosnian Muslims - just put their players at the top of the list and take them out first. Same with the Albanians in Kosovo if they pulled something similar, but I really don't think they could pull it off. I honestly don't think I've ever met an Albanian from Kosovo bright enough to be part of a group that had to deal with such a high level of intelligence.

That is because Shiptars Albanians are dumb as dog poop.

I’ve met them and seen their performance in college. DISMAL. They rank with the lowest in math around the world unlike the Serbs and Greeks who are up at the top.

if I remember right
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

You are pathetic—and you do not remember anything-—you never knew anything in the first place.

People like you come around once in a while (before they get flushed down the albanian squat toilet) and simply copy and paste from your ridiculous propaganda books paid for by the parastate of Turkeya and the Saudis.

You must have heard about Albanian toilets -

THE RUSSIANS reported that they made a very small improvement to the Albanian toilet seats by opening a large round hole in the middle.

Nicki! You’re back! School’s out at Harvard already?

You really should give it up, Nicki. Your rep, or what’s left of it, is at stake, what with those stories about your adventures in Athens heating up again. Dog vomit Albanians will never rise above the level of Somalis...and we all know about them!:)

It amazes that there could be so much stupidity concentrated in a bunch of morons calling themselves albanians.

The IQ Leaque...chart

Did you notice Albania/Kosovo is off the chart? Did you wonder why Albania/Kosovo is off the chart? Maybe because the results are in single digits? Also missing, Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia...hmmmm.

This chart was made by a controversial Ulster professor, Richard Lynn who, according to the source you provide (Times Online), "caused controversy last year by claiming that men were more intelligent than women by about five IQ points on average." This is not the first or the last time this racist said something controversial or just plains tupid, things that stretch the definition of science.

That British tabloids and newspapers are one and the same, namely trash, is a given, and so are the people who take them seriously. Is there any wonder then that a trashy newspaper would publish something from a trashy professor for trashy audience, but why does this trash have to appear on FR?

The caliber of this "scientist" (English universities have really sunken low) can be grasped from the following statement made by him:

“The main environmental influence on IQ is diet, and people in southeast Europe would have had less of the proteins, minerals and vitamins provided by meat which are essential for brain development.”

We all know that real philosophers and thinkers like Friedrich Nietzsche moved to Italy because he considered German food toxic and unfit for thinkers! We also know that one of the healthiest diets is the Mediterranean diet and that one country that doesn't have a cuisine at all is in UK! Considering the slop they eat in Ulster, I would imagine fish and chips is a delicacy. LOL!

The text continues:

"Britons excel in another area of Professor Lynn’s research. He found that university students had, at 109, the second-highest undergraduate IQs in the world, beaten only by their US counterparts on 110."

LOL! The smartest students in America's universities are foreign-born, especially Asians...(talk of high carb and low protein diets! There goes his whole diet theory!).

Finally, "Professor Lynn ascribes the differences between British and French intelligence levels to the results of military conflict. He described it as “a hitherto unrecognised law of history” that “the side with the higher IQ normally wins, unless they are hugely outnumbered, as Germany was after 1942”."

Last time I checked the "dumb" Russians defeated Napoleon, who defeated the Germans! And what's the use of winning a battle if you are going to lose a war? Where are British colonies today? Where is the empire on which the Sun never sets? Where is the German Empire or the Third Reich? Or Rome for that matter?

P.S. I have never met a Serb that who didn't underestimate others on bravery, determination, brain power and of course culture. The results are missing though.

Fair enough. When it comes to Albanians, however, the courage always comes from latching on to some big fish to get them what they want. As for culture, what culture do Albanians have except blood feud? They are the only people in Europe who have no history prior to the end of the 19th century, nothing written, built, etc. so now they are claiming Serbian monasteries and heroes as their own in a pathetic attempt to create a history from nothing.

BTW, to those hon don't understand, DoGodine u Rusiji means "Next Year in Russia" (I suppose an allusion to "Next Year in Jerusalem"), and the tagline suggests that even the Serbian royal dynasty are "Albanians." (I am sure they feel otherwise).

I think you are a troll.
