Dear Friends,

I am starting up a Political Action Committee for the 2010 Congressional Elections (though I also may support/oppose state and local candidates as well)!

I have Contacted the FEC (as well as..) the IRS.

I have a big packet of information from the FEC in which I am currently reading (and though it is interesting-to me..)..(ok so I am a 'nerd'..a political 'junkie' to be specific..). I am humbly asking for your advice if anyone has ever attempted this and is connected to this webite or just a general fellow citizen)? What were some 'pitfalls', 'successes', 'tips', etc..

Any advice would be greatly valued,..and appreciated~!

Sincerely,

J.S.

Judging from the amount of mail I get from a gazillion “conservative” organizations soliciting money, my advice is don’t do it. Every time someone starts a new conservative organization, it just scatters both our focus and our money. Until all these groups network like the liberal groups, we are all whistling in the dark.

I don’t intend, not will become one of “those organizations”,

I would contact people, however I won’t just flood people..thanks for the advice, but some of those orgs are either 1) Bloated and or 2) Uneffective, or 3) Not really in it to get something done.

I intend on focusing on Federal Candidates which vote for “Stimulus”, “Bailouts”, Massive government wasted pork, and other like minded fiscally iresponsible policies.

It will techically be “non-partisan”, but there are A LOT of general democrats (..independents) as well that ARE angry at the lame politicians which vote for such legislation, especially in this congress..While I WILL target republicans which are big spenders as well..I would start with targeting DEMOCRATS mostly..(what a better way to use the Lefts’s money against itself?? Huh..? I say)..

You need a lawyer's help to get started. PAC’s are not amateur night. You should also define yourself in terms of what you are for, not what you are against.

Best political organizer I ever knew was brought up as Commie organizer. Never write anything down. Disorder so no one can actually pin down what you did. Knew everyone’s phone numbers. Could organize a rally in hours. Knew everybody in the press. Was everybody’s best friend. Remembered kids’ names, dogs’ names. Winning politically is not about justice, right, wrong, truth nor beauty. It’s Robert’s Rules of Order (or whatever) who’s going to be voting when you call the question. It’s a game.
I’m agreeing with some of above. I’m sending my money one at a time to the candidates committee for particular campaign. Taking names and remembering.
