Update: Cap-and-Trade Vote Count: 210-210, 14 Undecided

That's right. We are hearing 210 - 210 with 14 undecided. Keep calling the swtichboard 202-224-3121 and emailing through here to ensure your message gets heard!

Remember: Over the 2012-2035 timeline, job losses average over 1.1 million. By 2035, a projected 2.5 million jobs are lost below the baseline (without a cap and trade bill). Particularly hit hard are sectors of the economy that are very energy-intensive: Manufacturers, farmers, construction, machinery, electrical equipment and appliances, transportation, textiles, paper products, chemicals, plastics and rubbers, and retail trade would face staggering employment losses as a result of Waxman-Markey.

Somebody said there was a possibility that Nancy would pull the bill from consideration...

That won't happen. they have the votes. this will pass, possibly by a single vote, more likely by 4 or 5.

His staffer also said that the actual vote won’t occur until later.

Yeah. They'll send the Pub reps out for pizza and then take a vote.

This current debate is against a floor amendment (Forbes-FL) presented to the bigger H 2454 (cap and trade) - each side gets fifteen minutes, of which about five have been used on each side.

Republicans have gone to the Pasta Offense - throw stuff up to delay the final vote (while people are calling them!). Floor Debate on 2454 is completed. They have to vote on this amendment before the 2454 vote, unless there are other amendments.

New amendment up for consideration - asking for an independent commission/further study.

House Repubs doing a good job today.

We may actually have a glimmer of hope.(?)

I’ve called. Mr. RR called. His secretaries called. All my chldren, grandchildren (those old enough), and neighbors have called. The lines have to be melted just from Rapid City alone.

Having a terrible afternoon of storms and my satellite is out. Thank goodness for FR keeping me updated on the events.

The longer this drags out, the better it looks for The Good Guys (and, well, the rest of the USA).
