Sarah Palin At High Noon

I just watched the classic movie "High Noon" (again). Gary Cooper played a brave sheriff who brought law and order to his town. As one woman said, "He made it safe for a decent woman to walk down the street". A recently released outlaw was coming back to town on the noon train to deliver vengeance against the sheriff who put him away. His gang of three arrived early to help their leader take out the sheriff.

Fully aware of why the bad men were in town, the sheriff could not arrest them because they had not broken any laws. Waiting is not illegal.

Desperate, the sheriff interrupted a church service to solicit help. After much debate, the ungrateful town folks declined. They even suggested the sheriff "get out of town" hoping the trouble would follow him. The sheriff contemplated their recommendation. He began saddling his horse, but something inside would not allow him to run away. Heroically, the sheriff faced the bad guys and won!

I thought of another strong, gutsy, bold, stand-on-principles hero, Sarah Palin, in her own modern day version of High Noon. Sheriff Palin rode into America Town on a white horse with conservative guns blazing and saved a dead McCain campaign. She brought hope to weary and battered conservative town folks and gave them a reason to vote.

Outlaw Obama and his posse, the hate filled liberal media/Democrat gang, came to town a gunnin' to politically eliminate Sheriff Palin. They ambushed her at Miss Katie Couric's CBS saloon. Though wounded numerous times, Sheriff Palin survived.

She bravely stood tall and rode high in the saddle while ungrateful, weak kneed Republican town folks ran for cover, hid in their homes and peeked nervously through the curtains.

Why are Obama and his gang so committed and desperate to destroy Palin? Could it be they recognize her destiny, like that of Moses, to set her people free? And why is she so despised by them? Obama's gang hate Palin for all the reasons we love her. Sheriff Palin is a good, decent and strong character driven conservative leader. Palin also believes in God. Such humility and virtues are as repulsive to liberals as showing Dracula the cross.

Something that sticks in the craw of many liberal women is that in their youth, they brought into the feminist rhetoric that women's liberation means no husband and family. Tragically, they find themselves aging and alone. Meanwhile, this conservative woman has it all: great career, fine family and a husband who loves and respects her. Adding insult in injury, Sheriff Palin looks mighty fine in her jeans.

Recently, the libs sent an old washed up gunslinger, the Letterman Kid, to challenge Sheriff Palin to a shoot out. Palin planted two bullets between the pathetic old dude's wrinkly eyes before he could un-holster his gun.

Despite Sheriff Palin's courage and willingness to fight, Obama and his posse rule America Town. They are in the process of taking over everything! Obama took over the livery stable and banned horses. While he and his posse continue riding horses, we town folks are forced to ride miniature ponies.

But in the spirit of what has made America Town great, an uprising is a brewin'. A huge conservative posse is building daily. Our first battle will be in 2010 to win back America Town's House and Senate. Then, in 2012, God willing and the creek don't rise, Sheriff Palin will lead us to victory in the battle of Little Big Washington DC. Years earlier, another great lawman cleaned up America Town, Sheriff Ronald Reagan.

After Sheriff Palin sweeps out the Obama gang, perhaps once again, we will be as what Sheriff Reagan affectionately called us, "a shining city on a hill".

You might notice that it a typo, corrected immediately in the post below.
These things happen from time to time when posting extemporaneously.

However, you’ll never see a gramtical nightmare like, “No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to get away with being able to make such a remark as he did and to think that that’s acceptable,” from me.

Thanks for the reasoned response. I too will support whatever Conservative candidate is running in 2012.

The issues are quite simple as I see them:

Unless Obama is neutered by a landslide Conservative takeover in 2010, by 2012 we will be facing staggering deficits, health system collapse, skyrocketing energy prices and a floundering economy.

There are few if any candidates that will have mastery of every issue and every industry that willl be harmed by the current occupant of the White House. But there are two key issues that I think Palin has mastered that give her an advantage in my mind.

One absolute imperative from day one of a new Conservative administration is kick starting our domestic energy industry. I can’t imagine too many Conservative candidates who understand this issue better than Palin. Her state depends on the oil & gas industry as few others do. It is one of the reasons Alaska, like Texas, has prospered while other states flounder. We have plenty of oil, gas and coal in our backyard here in the US and these are definitely “shovel ready” and real job producers.

Fiscal responsibility - She has returned money to Alaskan taxpayers and has not spent money like a drunken sailor as Governor. That means a whole lot to me after observing behavior in DC these last few decades.

I personally like governors as President. You need to understand the role of an executive and how to properly delegate and surround yourself with competent people. I believe Palin has this ability as well as that little extra special something that all good leaders require.

I also believe she is a woman of integrity, a quality I rarely see in politicians. I spotted Clinton for what he was the first time I met him while he was Governor of Arkansas. We met during a speech at the Excelsior Hotel. Still to this day I can’t imagine how people fell for his BS.

Obama, HRC, Biden, Gore, Pelosi, Kerry et al - They morph into whatever they think the voters want every election cycle. Their pandering is sickening.

I went to church with W before he became Governor. He was a good man, but definitely not a strong Conservative. History will treat him well for what he accomplished after 9/11 though.

This is the point. I look at Palin and I don’t see a savior or a cult leader. I see an accomplished woman of integrity. Someone who has fought the good fight from PTA, to city council, to mayor, to oil & gas commisioner to Governor to VP candidate.

I see a Conservative Christian woman who was brutally attacked by the state-run media and entertainment world in ways I have never witnessed in my 40+ years of following politics. But yet, she survived and thrives. And frankly, if she can make the left this crazy, I would love to see them implode when she is in the White House.

When I first posted on FR I constructed a thought about Gov. Palin that some considered trollish and I got banned. I fought the ban by proving I was not a troll and it worked.

You are right about what America will be facing in 2012.
But our side can do nothing about it if we can't articulate the problems and speak lucidly about real solutions. If we can, then we will win. If we can't, and Sarah Palin can't, then we will lose. We need someone knowledgeable with an agile mind. Someone who will not only convince the voters they are the right person for the job, but also be the right person for the job once they get there.

I want someone I can have confidence in having the right solutions.

It will take something of a Renaissance man to fill the position, and you are right, there are few who could.
But there are some.
Newt Gingrich, Dick Cheney, Jim DeMint, Mike Pence all could fit that bill.
Unlike Palin, they all could propose real solutions borne from years as leading intellectual lights in the conservative movement.
Unlike Palin, they would not get tripped up and outsmarted by Barack 0bama, Joe Biden, Katie Couric, or David Letterman.

This is the future of America, the future of the GOP, and the future of conservatism as an intellectually credible political philosophy we're talking about here.

Jimmy Carter was not a solid Christian and that is not my fallback position. I agree with her stand on everything I’ve heard her speak about: Life, liberty and protecting all that goes with it. If her faith in Christ offends you, then that’s too bad.

What would she do to rollback the 0bama agenda?
Who would she appoint to her cabinet?

Empty platitudes don’t get you past the introductory paragraph.
Show me some detailed policy proposals from her.

BTW, Jimmy Carter is as solid a Christian as you can get, by every objective measurement.
Apparently your definition of a “solid Christian” is simply someone you are personally simpatico with on issues having nothing to do with religion.
Perhaps you meant “solid conservative” instead?

Has she released any detailed policy proposals? All I can judge her on is her conduct in running Alaska and her introduction to national politics from last year. I like who she is, I like what she has to say and I'll vote for her if she runs in 2012. She will surround herself with smart people, as all executives are expected to do.

Don't buy into Punch's attempt at labeling Sarah as a poor speaker. She is just the opposite! Millions know it, even the Democrats.
