Just a correction: This guy is NOT a Catholic priest. He was suspended by Pope JPII many years ago for his Liberation Theology activities and certainly cannot be described as a “Catholic priest” at this point. It would be more to the point ro refer to him as “leading UN official,” since Miguel D’Escoto is currently the President of the UN General Assembly.
