Scores of Iranian MPs have snubbed President Ahmadinejad's victory party according to local press reports. What next for Iran?
All 290 MPs were invited to the victory party on Wednesday night but 105 did not turn up.
The BBC's Jeremy Bowen says the move is a sign of the deep split at the top of the country following the recent disputed presidential polls.
Hundreds of opposition protesters and activists are believed to have been taken into custody and at least 17 people have died in the unrest that followed the 12 June election.
Severe reporting restrictions imposed on foreign media in Iran mean the BBC cannot verify the reports.
What can the protests achieve? What impact will the political divisions in government have? What message does the result send out to the international community? Are you in Iran?

Ahmadinejad’s opposition better work fast. He and Khamenei are totalitarians, and will get rid of them like they got rid of the protestors.
I read somewhere else that the numbers were reversed as posted. 105 showed up, 185 did not show up?
Obama’s health plan, Sanford and Farah have already knocked Iran out of the headlines. THe Mullahs will kill enough protesters to put an end to the uprising. Evil has won. What flavor ice cream is the president eating?
I believe Iran will change.
It stands to reason that some of those MP’s lost family members amoung the killed & arrested, making them targets for arrest. I rather doubt that our intel is good enough to tell us the details. If it can’t be photographed from orbit, we just don’t know about it.
Losing momentum. General strike now or it’s over.
Well...all of the media are under pressure from the regime....BBC does broadcast widely which I think is why we need to know what they are saying....
Deep in my heart I believe that every man woman and child in this world wants free will and thos who want to enslave them in the end will lose. The simple truth is that they can’t kill everyone. It is probably going to be very bloody but in the end they will lose.
The Green Revolution will succeed. Just give it time.
