"They are worse than the pirates," said Russian yachtsman Vladimir Mironov. "At least the pirates have the decency to take hostages, these people are just paying to commit murder," he continued. Taking hostages (for ransom) is decency? Killing pirates is murder?

Sounds like fun....now where is a good travel agent?

Just wait until the Reverand Al Sharpton and the Most Reverand Jesse Jackson get wind of this. Look out Embassy, the protesters will be on the way.

Interesting. Not certain it’s murder if you’re being attacked even though you put yourself in the position of being attacked. It’s more like war games although I think the pirates should catch on quickly.
Those crazy Russians.

Ah, a new sport for gentlemen of means in the spirit of the great buffalo hunting trains of the late 1800s...

Getting rid of pirates by turning them into prey for sport. I just love this is so many ways...

Probably heard there was a position in Obama’s cabinet.

Yup - it is a free market solution. Somehow I think shooting back would quickly solve the piracy issue.

Vlad is likely an ardent MSNBC viewer.

This is a case where neither side I agree with.
First, I don’t believe the pirates are ‘decent’ people as the Russian nutbag says. Because they take hostages. Too much potato vodka in that logic system for me, thanks.
I also don’t believe in taking pleasure at killing people even in self defense. It is a bad thing to develop a scheudenfreude de-sensitizing response to killing people. That is why military needs to handle stuff like this, they are doing a job rather than ‘sport hunting’ and ‘let’s see what they look like when we blow them up with this’. This is conditioning people to think real life is just a video game.

I guess society just sank another notch on the morality scale. Why on Earth would you think that? Think of it like a police 'sting' operation, only with a lethal stinger.
