Wrong, they weren't after him and the emails that weren't published until yesterday afternoon appear to have been sent by Maria and then not denied by Sanford when they were revealed to his office before publishing.
That has been my feeling since Monday night, that this is an ego that is out of control.
Inexcusable, yes. Damaging to his state and family, yes. Does he deserve political destruction for it, yes.
So long as it serves the purposes of the marxists to achieve power. Marxists are so good at using our moral standards to destroy us politically. This is right out of Saul Alinksy’s playbook. Watch for this to happen more and more, until there are only an isolated handful of conservatives left.
It reminds me of the handful of Jedi left after the battle in Episode II. Weakened by diminished numbers; vulnerable and ripe for final extermination.

Allen Stanford was showering pols with cash, he stiffed the IRS for over $100M.....In 2002-03, Stanford had enormous tax debts while campaign records show Stanford personally donated $100’s of $1000’s: $560K to Dem Sen Campaign Committee, $100K to Ntl Repub Cong Committee, $10K to Dem Cong Campaign Committee, $4K to Sen Schumer, $3K to Sen Dodd, $2K to Sen Shelby, $1K to Sen Reid.
After the tax lien was filed, Dems thanked Stanford at their 2008 Denver convention for $150K to sponsor a Dem n/p forum. Dem groups did not respond to ABC's inquiries. Dodd gave his to charity. Shelby's office returned donations to the Stanford Financial Group receiver. Sen. Reid intended to shed all funds from Stanford, his company and employees. Sen. Schumer did not respond.

(Reuters) – A fund of hedge funds run by two members of VP Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by firms controlled by Texas financier Allen Stanford, charged by regulators with an $8 billion fraud, the Wall Street Journal said. The $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and a Stanford Financial Group entity, and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund, the paper said.
Stanford-related companies marketed the fund to investors and also invested about $2.7 million of their own money in the fund, the paper said, citing a lawyer for Paradigm.
Paradigm Global Advisors is owned through a holding company by the vice president's son, Hunter, and Joe Biden's brother, James, according to the paper. Paradigm's attorney, Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden, as well as Paradigm, told the paper he did not know which Stanford entity invested the roughly $2.7 million. He told the paper the Bidens never met or communicated with Stanford.
