The episode is known as the Night Journey.

Mohammed travelled via Buraq-Air from (not sure, Mecca?) to “the furthest Mosque” which for political (read: anti-jewish) reasons is now identified as the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. I don’t know the truth of this, this is just a warning that the Night Journey might not have claimed as being from Jerusalem originally.

Mohammed then ascended, again on Buraq, from the furthest mosque to meet Allah, who pretty much took notes while Mohammed was talking. Then Mohammed flew back, and told everyone about his miraculous journey. Which they believed on pain of death.

Hope this is helpful.

Sounds like a classic case of “respect my authority!”
