They could lay off half the stupid c**ts in the Tax Office and not affect service levels at all. Half the time I go in there most of the clerks are sitting around doing nothing (while there’s a line waiting to be served).

It seems as if the Dallas government has the right idea by getting rid of pointless paperpushing jobs at city hall.

Most governments would rather layoff cops and firefighters and other critical services- to get public sympathy for the idea of tax increases.

The City of Dallas has bigger fish to fry than operating an efficient city govt and enhancing the city’s appeal. You know, like finding a downtown thoroughfare to attach the name of a Mexican farm worker who has no ties to Dallas whatsoever.

Something wicked that way comes.
