PLEASE ACTIVATE YOUR PING LIST, EMAIL LIST, FACE BOOK, TWITTER OR ANY OTHER WAY TO MAKE THIS KNOWN. Call Congress. Please be active as I said last night, the left is. Emails for this and health care are going out, their base has been activated to get it passed. We need to get it STOPPED!

Here's a candid description of cap-and-trade by Obama's own IRS guy as quoted in the BNA daily Tax Report for June 22:

IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel (International) Michael "DiFronzo said the interesting thing about emissions credits is 'they are really not tied to a tangible piece of property' but to a license to pollute. Therefore, the credits do not fit into current Subpart F rules, which require they be tied to tangible property, he said."

Did you get that? A License to pollute.

Cap-and-trade has nothing to do with "Green" other than a revenue generator to pump money from your pocket to the gubmint.

What Would a Successful Cap-and-Trade Program Look Like?

The goal: To limit the rise in global temperature to approximately 2.0 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels by 2050 by reducing carbon dioxide and other emissions from companies as part of a larger plan for curbing global warming.

The cap: To achieve this goal, the U.S. government should steadily tighten the cap until emissions are reduced to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050. Businesses would have to obtain permits entitling them to emit a certain quantity of carbon dioxide or its equivalent in other greenhouse gases. All permits would be auctioned off by the government. Emissions permits in the near term would likely fall in the range of $10 to $15 per metric ton of carbon dioxide or its equivalent.

The trade: Companies unable to meet their emissions quotas could purchase allowances from other companies that have acquired more permits than they need to account for their emissions. The cost of buying and selling these credits would be determined by the marketplace, which over time would reduce the cost of trading the credits as trading becomes more widespread and efficient.

The profits: Initial estimates by the Congressional Budget Office project that an economy-wide cap-and-trade program would generate at least $50 billion per year, but could reach up to $300 billion. Approximately 10 percent of this revenue should be allocated to help offset costs to businesses and shareholders of affected industries. Of the remaining revenue, approximately half should be devoted to help offset any energy price increases for low- and middle-income Americans that may occur as a result of the transition to more efficient energy sources. The other half of the remaining revenue should be used to invest in renewable energy, efficiency, low-carbon transportation technologies, green-collar job training, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Some resources should also be invested in the energy, environment, and infrastructure sectors in developing nations to alleviate energy poverty with low-carbon energy systems and help these nations adapt to the inevitable effects of global warming. Revenues from the permit auction would essentially be “recycled” back into the economy to facilitate the transition to an efficient, low-carbon energy economy and ensure that consumers are not unduly burdened by potentially higher energy costs.

I thought Obama said NO new taxes, not ONE dime to “middle income” Americans? Liar.

So, I still want to know WHY someone would support this when it takes money out of YOUR pocket and OUR economy so companies can POLLUTE legally and then have have to use the tax money to subsidize higher energy prices???

Also curious to me is how the tax of a few countries (which doesn’t stop emissions) will do anything globally when so many do nothing.

done. not that my current congresscritter (Sestak) will give a rat’s ass. But if we remain silent, we only have ourselves to blame. And I threw in my thoughts on the proposed obomacare bill as well. Not until everyone in congress and the admin signs up for such a plan will i.

My new Democrat congresswoman is Suzanne Kosmas. She now represents the 24th District in Florida.

So far Suzanne Kosmas has goosestepped with the rest of the Democrats and has voted Nancy Pelosi’s way for every bill to come up. I’m surprised she feels confident enough in this district to so mindlessly toe the Democrat line.

I’m sure she will also vote for this cap and trade abomination. I’ll call her anyhow and I encourage everybody to look how your representatives are voting in this congress and if it’s too far left - do something about it. Make sure your district is aware of this.

You know, I hear the word ‘emissions’ and I think, how long before this Congress tells us how often we can exhale C02? And,, aren’t they (collectively) a huge waste? I have heard of Ponzi schemes, I think we should call this one a Pelosi scheme. I mean, come on! The woman deserves an illegal scheme to be named after her,,well,,or a disease. I’d settle for that.

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

I will call, email and do whatever I can to stop this destroy America agenda. These people do not live in the real world. I am totally disgusted with the current state of affairs in Washington. I am not sure we will have a country left by the 2010 elections. If we do not change the control of Congress in 2010 the bastards will probably find a way to adopt the tactics of the Iranian government to deal with all those who do not support their destroy America agenda.
