What burns me up about this “WE want” and “WE’LL ask” business is that it is NONE of the government’s business! These private decisions are to be ONLY between dr. and patient.

Whether intended or not, the consequence of government takeover of healthcare will be a nice, tidy thinning of the aging Boomer population without even having to call in Dr. Kevorkian! The officious stamp of a government bureaucrat will determine whether or not you or your loved ones “deserve” lifesaving treatment. Abortion and euthanasia will be tied up in one convenient bundle. Get rid of the unwanted at both the beginning AND end of life, all under the guise of “health” care. Eugenics will have been effectifely achieved because only the healthcare of the youngest and fittest will be sanctioned/financed by the government. As you suggested, reminds us of when gas chambers were really knowns as “baths,” “resettlement” was really deportation and murder, and the “final solution” was the Holocaust. I wonder what creative euphemisms THIS Leftist government will come up with? Will last place on a waiting list be “adjusted prioritization” or some other rotgut term?

The premise behind Roe v. Wade was that the state does not have the right to interfere in the medical decisions of a patient and a doctor and further that the state cannot inquire into the medical conditions of citizens because of the RIGHT OF PRIVACY.

The implementation of a forced government controlled health care industry would involve a wholesale destruction of any notion of medical "privacy" as enunciated in Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade.

Someone needs to start asking these congressmen and the president if they are now advocating that the right of privacy enunciated in Roe is no longer applicable to the states or the federal government?
