Ryan ONeal and longtime love Farrah Fawcett are finally getting married.
"I've asked her to marry me, again, and she's agreed," O'Neal, 68, tells Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview on ABCs 20/20.
ONeal says the couple, who have been together since 1980, "will" wed "as soon as she can, say yes ... Maybe we can just nod her head."
"I promise you, we will," he told Walters. "Absolutely."
The wedding is sure to be a high point in Fawcetts three-year battle with anal cancer that has left the actress, 62, now "fighting for her life."
As for the couples attire during the wedding ceremony, ONeal says he and Fawcett have joked that he'll dress "like a gigolo. You know? And a little thin mustache and slicked-back hair. I don't know. We have fun, we tease about that."

I think its awesome.
My uncle married my aunt on her deathbed. She didn’t want to die single and he didn’t let her.
What a creep.
You’re more of a romantic then I. To use Major Garretts line “Why did you take so long”?
I thought Farrah was on her death bed.
Congratulations to them, and I hope she recovers fully from her cancer.
She is.
thanks for thread Dita.. well, I was out of the loop. For some reason I thought they WERE married & divorced but remained close re: their son etc. I know he was by her side often in times of problems. I wish them well..
Is this a bid to get her money? Or is it already community property?
Sad that she wasn’t worth marrying until she was almost dead.
My aunt and uncle had been married and divorced. They had two kids together and the man my Aunt had been dating at the discovery of her pancreatic cancer disappeared rather than deal with it.
Since my aunt and uncle were still close he offered and she accepted.
Why is he a creep? He marries someone he's been common law wed to for 29 years and he's a creep?
I’m not sure why they feel they need to do this but whatever. I would wish them the best, but that seems a little tacky. My prayers instead.
What a pain in the a$$.
Is Ryan still using?
Death puts everything into perspective.
Some people change for the worse when they get married.
It is hard to say, but I am happy he is doing the honorable thing.
Folks, I think a little compassion is called for here.
Fawcett is on what appears to be her death bed. Why the animosity for these two.?
They didn’t get married, but O’Neal seems to be the one getting the blame. How do we know Farrah wasn’t the one who wanted to keep things like they were? Heck perhaps they both did.
What they want to do now is fine by me. Their last moments are theirs to design. I say more power to them.
Fawcett hasn’t been on of my favorites. O’Neal was someone I could take or leave, never cared much for him. What they do right now is fine by me. It’s really none of my business, but I don’t like to see people swoop in to make points at a time like this.
Best wishes to them both.
I simply do not care.
“I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed,”
Sounds like she’s the one that has been holding out.
Ain’t love grand?
