Gov. Mark Sanford admitted to having an affair with a woman from Argentina at a much anticipated Tuesday afternoon press conference. Sanford said he and his wife are trying to work through this. Sanford called himself selfish. Gov. Sanford is also chairman of the GOP Governors' Association. He said he will tender his resignation.

“That stupid SOB. We finally get someone that will stand up to the socialists in Washington and it turns out that he can’t contol his pecker.”
Lots of people have demons (adulterors, drunks, drug addicts). They have good jobs some of which are in government. The bottom line is this if you disagree with the person’s policies you are going to crucify them. If you agree with their policies you will look the other way. Most Democrats look the other way execpt when it is a Republican or conservative doing the deed.
I know where one of Sanford's biggest supporters is; out on the playground calling Mitt Romney names.
Tango lessons! Yeah, that’s the ticket, tango lessons.
Oh wait, Mark is Republican. ..never mind.
I hope, at the very least, he has better taste than Madonna.
“I thought he was against stimulus.”
Only domestic, I guess. : /
AMEN and AMEN!!!
He’s not the first or last. Now if it’s a minor or hooker, ok, different story.
Otherwise, full steam ahead as governor of SC. Nationally though, he is done.
Unfortunately, he is one of the few reeds that was willing to stand up to Obambi, the Rats, and the RINO's. They keep this up and we'll end up with another McCain.
Having further considered this in regards to this revelation, I still don’t care. Let him and his wife work out the details of their marriage. If he were a Democrat, he would be presidential material. Now, he can count on being thrown into the scrap heap of Republican politicians with moral short comings.
Count me as one (or a former one). I just heard about this and I find Sanford's behavior appalling. We need a thorough house cleaning in the GOP. The party's getting as bad as the Democrats, not just by being PC and RINOish, but by the personal behavior of the political leaders as well. Sanford was one of the few seemingly principled GOP conservatives, and he pulls something like this. Something we'd expect from someone named Clinton or Kennedy.
lol
Anyone notice when he said the words:
“I have been unfaithful to my Wife,”
The woman behind him on his right bursts open a hugh smile?
I actually thought he did a pretty good job of accepting responsibility. He didn’t blame anyone for what he did, and he spoke of facing the consequences.
So be it.
unless he does something brilliant to redeem himself.
Plenty of opportunity and plenty of time!
These voters be very fickle...they will still vote for him.
Sanford's fling was nothing short of IDIOCY. and I spit on him for it. I can't help but wonder if this was a self fullfilling prophecy, that maybe he subconsciously was sick of political life. He is just at the right age for a midlife crisis and fling, so he had one.At least it was not as bloody as suicide by gun.
I'm with you on leaving it to SC to solve.
vaudine
He should have just resigned as Governor and let it go at that. I cannot believe this guy is a Republican and anyone wanted him to be presidential material. He is loving this attention and talking. My hope is his wife gets out immediately. Just as sickening as John Edwards and company.

Luke 6:37 (King James Version)Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Romans 2:1 (King James Version)thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
When will Republicans ever learn how you are played by Liberals?
Evangelical Republcians are their own worst enemy, demanding from others what they themselves cannot attain.
And the Dems keep pointing fingers, winning elections, destroying the country and even Chirstianity itself.
Like I said, Republicans fall into the trap every time and end up played like a cheap guitar.
Unfortunaely this is only the end of the beginning of this story...can't help but wonder if there's now a love-child involved...being as he said he met with her here in the U.S. at least twice I believe over the past year, but to make the decision to travel to Argentina--to take such a risk without anyone knowing his whereabouts...could very well be.
I heavily suspected that he was NOT the second coming of Reagan.
