Cap salaries, and lose talent to competitors who pay more.
Duh!

Things is, a number of those top traders and bankers got us into the mess that the taxpayers are footing the bill for.

Will have to get permission from the money czar or cap czar or the czar of the world behind the red curtain before that can happen.

Der Fuhrer’s “wealth czar” will be on the case before long. Only corrupt, ‘RAT politicians are allowed to make “the big bucks!” Citibank should know that.

I always thought it was the mortgage people and those selling mortgage backed securities. How did a normal stock trader cause this?

After the performance of so terribly many banks and brokerages in the current economic difficulty I would suggest that there's no sign any of their employees are particularly talented in anything at all.
So what's the justification for increasing salaries?

These are the same idiots who marched on DC demanding we bail them out of the mess they created. They shouldn’t be allowed anywhere NEAR a bank!

Halt the exodus?
Where is the grass greener?
The banking business is a disaster.
They can't afford to lose any more incompetents?
(from a recent e-mail: "I went to buy a new toaster and they threw in a bank." Also....."When the bank notifies you your check was returned due to insufficient funds, you have to ask if it's you or them that had no money to cover the check.")

UBS Warburg in Switzerland. They’ve been pretty much grabbing anyone they could get. And the Swiss govm’t is letting them negotiate their own tax rate with the Canton they decide to live in. Around 10% or so...
