Well, DC Metro finally killed some people. Not surprised.

Sometimes it's better to not say anything at all:

Three people were killed on the Metro on January 13, 1982.

A track worker was killed by a train on November 30, 2006.

Considering Metro is over thirty years old. That so few passengers and workers have been killed is a pretty good record.

Hi Kristinn,

Hope that all of your family, friends and the DC Freepers are okay.

Kristinn, I meant no disrespect to any of the dead or wounded. Just an observation based on what I've seen with my own eyes for the past year.

Maintenance was slipping badly because of the big budget deficit, and my colleagues and I have commented repeatedly that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. We all ride the Red Line regularly each week, and every time we get on it, we hold our breath that something doesn't happen.

Kristinn ... if memory serves 1/13/82 was not only the first fatal Metro accident, but also the day the plane taking off for FL from National went into the 14th Street bridge and the Potomac??? Nasty, icy, snowy day.
