Our governor is out hiking and these people on this thread trash him for no reason. They are a disgrace to FR.
No, your governor has to go out hiking to "clear his head" and his wife and kids don't know where he is for a few days? Sorry, this not somebody I want anywhere near the White House in a crisis. His higher political aspirations are dead. Who are the new #2 nominees for my tagline?

Is your ignorance that total, or your head that thick? Do you really think his wife didn't know where he went? I am aa avid Palin supporter, but think this is just another MSM "much ado about nothing". Mark Sanford is a good man.

I suggest you change your tagline, for sure. I would look to Obama as your ideal, from your posts herein. Maybe something along..."MSM, never wrong, nor never, ever, right!" would fit better on your posts!

So the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is the version we have of sled and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is the same. I wonder if the Texas Rangers are their state level investigatory agency or if it's a law enforcement entity unto itself? Would you know?

Media spin and much to do about nothing because the lt. Gov wants to replace Sanford when he term is up here... soon. The media added their spin to bash Sanford.

Ignore this crap.

Very awful, he seems like someone with some real potential. This is too weird.

Was he the one who was forced to take the stimulas money? I just heard him speak for the first time about two weeks ago and he seemed very promising. I am very concerned about this.

I know he wanted to refuse the money. He may have ultimately been forced to take it. Someone from SC can probably answer that.

As to his disappearance, I'm sure there is MUCH more to the story than is being told.

Sorry, I had liked Sanford, but apparently this is not uncommon for him to “have to get away to get his thoughts together, etc” (as per his staff). This is no guy I want near the White House. He obviously can’t take the pressure. And why is it that as soon as somebody disagrees with you, then whoever disagrees with you must be for Obama, go back to DU, etc. etc. etc. Sounds like you can’t handle the pressure either, can’t have a reasonable discussion, maybe you should try a chill pill.

If you read my posts with any accuracy, you'd clearly realize that I was speaking of YOUNG children. Young does not mean grown children or grandchildren. I'm betting that your (young) grandchildren were with their father (assuming they have one.)

"Your wishes are not commands."

Stuff it.

Hey, I put the bong down.

Apparently you take your information from sources friendly to the Lt Gov. I understand he isn't "friendly" with Sanford... Hmmm...

I am not supporting sanford, as previously stated. Put, you evidently are looking for the "flavor of the month", if willing to leave him so soon. did you check him out before putting him in your tagline? Inquiring minds want to know.

In the meantime, click on the pic and donate to SarahPac!

...were with their father (assuming they have one.)

Stuff it where the sun don't shine, indeed!

I am assuming (I know!) with your screen name that you are female. In case you don't know the difference, we are talking about males. There is a difference, my FRiend.

Men don't do these things without prodding from females. Men are perfectly satisfied sitting with a beer, or margarita, fishing pole in hand (or screwdriver, or wrench, or...), accompanied or not. A particular designated day isn't changing that. You can make all your emotions want it to happen, but estrogen and testosterone have different effects on the human anatomy AND MIND! Most men can care less about these things, unless it helps him "get lucky". Married men are especially susceptible, but are around their kids daily.

It is a chance for the others to celebrate, by FRiend, not dear old dad! It's about Mom encouraging the little ones to serve him breakfast in bed, while he wants to be hitting the links, or climbing a hill.

Mark Sanford took a hike. Try it!

I thought that (in most areas of the country) children spend Father’s Day with their dad—that dads want to be with their children—for the benefit of the children. Maybe Father’s Day is dead. It’s dead at the White House so maybe in some other areas of the country it is also. Maybe honoring fathers has fallen way to “Who’s my Daddy?” Day. I’m tired of getting kicked for sticking up for Father’s Day. See ya.

For Father’s Day, my father got to spend the day doing whatever he wished. It was not another day where he was required to do “dad” things with all the kids.

I continued the tradition. Once my husband went on retreat, once he went on a fishing trip, once he spent the day in bed being waited on hand and foot by the kids and me.

The point is, HE got to celebrate HIS day the way he wanted, not in some pre-determined scheduled family activity he was required to participate in, whether he wanted to or not.

He extended the same courtesy to me, on Mother’s Day.

I thought that (in most areas of the country) children spend Father’s Day with their dad...

How long has "Father's Day" been celebrated? What does it mean? I'll do a quick search for you...

The Associated Men's Wear Retailers formed a National Father's Day Committee in New York City in the 1930s, which was renamed in 1938 to National Council for the Promotion of Father's Day and incorporated several other trade groups.[4] This council had the goals of legitimizing the holiday in the mind of the people and managing the holiday as a commercial event in a more systematic way, in order to boost the sales during the holiday.[4] ... -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father's_Day

Father's day is another way for Hallmark to make money. Dad's spend as much time with their children as they want, regardless of day. Enjoy your trip to the Mall!

Oh for cryin’ out loud you missed my point. I'm not talking about “structure,” “scheduling” or “requirements.” If you don't know what I mean I don't think I can explain it so that you know get my point.

Perhaps preparing for a ‘12 run and trying to keep it quiet?

Odd that he’d be gone Father’s Day though. I wonder if this story is blown out of whack and Jenny’s response is based on the fact that she’s keeping his location quiet as well on purpose.
