Obama Net Approval Slips to Negative for First Time(Update)

June 21, 2009 Obama net approval slips to negative for first time (updated) Richard Baehr

The Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll slips into negative net approval territory for President Obama on Father's Day, 2009.

32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2.

Then again, CBS Sunday Morning show just had a fawning ten minute interview conducted by Harry Smith of the first father. The ABC prime time special on health care is coming up.

Rosslyn Smith adds:

Overall, 53% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of Obama's performance. This ties a prior low.

Gene Schwimmer writes:

Need I mention that, barely six months into his presidency, Obama is only four points away from below 50% apprival?

Note that Obama's previous low was zero and, the day before, was +1 - so he went, in one day, directly from +1 to -2 without stopping at zero or -1. Which would mean that the yesterday's poll (the third day of Rasmussen's three-day rolling average) must have been very bad.

Obama has a pattern of splashy media events driving a recovery, each time hisapproval drops. ABC's White House Telethon to the rescue. Butif, after the American people have had an all day explanation-cum-promotion of his plan, he is in deep doo-doo.

Prediction: Six months from now a 50% approval rating will look like the promised land to obama and his cohorts. They'll remember fondly the good old days of a positive approval rating.

I predict that if N. Korea fires a warning shot over Hawaii’s head, and O delivers one of his “stern” comments, it won’t take six months for his approval rating to drop even lower.

Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove

And, my FRiends, there is one other critical dot to connect.

Marxist Obama's activist promotion by the alleged "news" media.

As the Democratic Socialist's "free lunch" falls into the dust bin of reality, a well-earned cynical distrust of the media is not far behind.

And once someone (or some network) is caught in a big, group lie, they cannot regain trust easily (if at all.)

“...a well-earned cynical distrust of the media is not far behind.”

The reason Free Republic and talk radio is so successful is because there’s been a well-earned cynical distrust of the media for a very long time......by conservatives.

...by conservatives.

Oui.

I know some "moderates", Obama voters both, who will learn a valuable "who do you trust?" lesson about the media once they successfully auto-deprogram about Marxist Obama.

(Fear of stifling debt for several generations will help here.)

Blaming the messenger is a human condition; and in this case of provable, and coordinated and deliberate lies, it's warranted and I'll bet pretty indelible.

It's the "tangled web" metaphor on a grand scale.

People feel insulted when they learn they were lied to. It's human nature.

The alleged "news" media will be held in the same contemptuous regard, by free-thinking moderates, as it currently is by us conservatives.

It's a simple dot to connect Obama's deceit and failure with the "news" media.

Gallon of gas is up 60% since Hussein Obama became president. Who wouldn’t be pissed?

I have zero percent respect and 100 percent disdain for nobama.

However, I suspect the number would be almost identical if McCain had won. The president does not control the price of gas. At least not until nobama nationalizes the oil companies.

Zero rescinded Bush's July '08 lifting the drilling ban.

I agree...

Think of these recent images: The 16 year old Iranian girl being shot dead in the street and all of those people being gassed, beaten and attacked by the Iranian thugs.....and then on the very same day, here is Obama, with his girls, slurping on a frozen custard.

Now, for a media hound, Hussein has a real problem hiding his lack of a moral compass. People are seeing this arrogant joke for what he is.....a big zero.

Perhaps Zer0 gave a “wink and a nod” to the Imams of Iran.

This creep does’nt give a lick about freedom and democracy.
he paid cheap lip service to the cause only after
congress spoke up against the repression in Iran.

Zer0 substance.

I’ve said that within a yr. of 0bama taking over there would be remorse. I’ve always thought the numbers inflated as you never run into people who grew supportive of him that voted against him yet run into people who voted for him and are regretting it or questioning it. There is no way he was ever near 60% as the numbers are always inflated. And I think this is closer to it, but with real people I believe he is below the 50% mark already and these polls are lagging as they have been such cheerleaders for this fraud. They are still wanting to push the fairy tale when people are realizing what a nightmare it all is becoming with their brand of ‘hope and change’.

obama will lob a few missiles into n korea and his approval rating will go up

he isn’t stupid; he will be clinton until after the 2012 election (and then go hard left again)

“he isn’t stupid”

Yes he is. He’s also vain and a coward, as is true of all American leftists.

Do you remember three or four months ago of obuma’s call for his fat welfare supporters and his liberal bed-wetting college kids to gather and go door-to-door and demand people pledge fealty to obuma?

Nobody showed up.

Let’s not give obuma credit for something he’s not. Smart is not one of obuma’s qualities.
