The guy the want to be president support the overthrow of the Shah and the hostage taking. I wish them success in overthrowing their current government but it will be just to trade in on a “lesser” evil.

The internet is allowing what’s happening in Iran to be broadcast both to the world AND to the Iranian people.

Thank God for the internet!

It will save the Chinese people as well, one day.

1. A popular uprising like this that deposes the current bunch, including Khamanie will set an example that is not lost on Mousavi, or the people. If he gets out of hand, they will do the same to him.

2. I honestly think this has gone beyond these “candidates”.

The many, many young people (and a lot of the older ones too) of Iran want freedom, not another puppet to tyranical Islamic rule.

I believe we could see the birth or republicanism in Iran, but it may very possibly become much more bloody before it is over. The Basij and many in the Revoultionary Guard are not likely to go quietly.

The key is, “What will the regular Army do?” And will they (say, Like Washington) be willing to take part in ending the Islamic tyranny and then hand it over to a new, true Republic?

At this point, the people may not accept anything less.

One thing is sure...it is Bush’s direct engagement, support of liberty, and policies that are driving this. Still bearing fruit. Obama is trying like crazy to spin this to his advantage, but we cannot let him lie and try and steal it. His policies would have made this impossible...just as they would have made Iraq impossible.

"...your response to this comment is apt to be suggestive that
anyone who objects to such images is somehow in favor of oppression..."
-
I hesitated before making my reply,
because I really do fully understand your point.
Remember, there were plenty of people after 911
who wanted to censor the pictures of the dead
and the pictures of the tower jumpers.
"Trust me" ... I have every respect for this young girls' dignity.
BUT...
I think it is important for people to FULLY UNDERSTAND
that what is going on is not just some episode of "Iranian Idol"
or another installment of "Survivor - Iran".
These people are being killed for a desire for a chance at
the freedoms that most people here take for granted.
PLUS...
there are many hotheads here among us that think
a similar thing should occur here in the U.S.
Revolution / rebellion is an ugly thing.
Do you remember this?

If we’re going to talk “ice cream” I’ve got the perfect recipe!!!

BAROCKYROAD
Stimulating New Recipe

BarockyRoad is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded by Nuts and Flakes.

The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient.

The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.

The Cost is $100.00 per scoop.

When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the
Ice Cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you.

Thus you are left with: . . . . . .
An empty wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.

Aren’t you feeling stimulated?

You're welcome.

Photobucket Here is where LoM is right now. The picture is from last Sunday, today it is raining hard but instead of just filling two streetcorners the protest rally reaches half-way or more down the (long) block on the street going off to the left. And they're not all Iranians out there.

And the stupid suit goes for ice cream, plays golf and writes strongly worded e-mails, in bold capital letters.

I never thought that I would be ashamed of the leader of the free world until this clueless, Godless, classless phony soiled the peoples house with his presents.

All they have is rocks, heart and courage!

We must never let ourselves be reduced to the point that rocks are all we have. This is what the Second Amendment is for.
